摘要:
AbstractThree monomers, β‐14C‐tagged methyl,nbutyl, andn‐heptyl α‐cyanoacrylate, have been applied to intact skin and split‐thickness skin‐graft donor sites on rats. The data indicate that the urinary14C activity is in the order: methyl>n‐butyl ornheptyl. Also, the urinary activity, when the monomers are applied to the split thickness skin graft donor sites, is approximately threefold greater than when the monomers are applied to intact skin. AbstractA quantitative method for determining residual ethylene oxide in plastic and rubber catheters using gas–liquid chromatography has been developed. AbstractThe highern‐alkyl α‐cyanoacrylate homologs had been previously found to wet, spread, and rapidly polymerize on tissue substrates whereas the lower homologs do not wet and polymerize slowly. The reverse effect is noted on nonproteinaceous substrates such as distilled water and saline solution. Tissue bonds were prepared and testedin vivoin rats. Bonds prepared with the highern‐alkyl α‐cyanoacrylate homologs were found to be stronger than those prepared with the lower homologs. The data are in general accord with the wetting and spreading characteristics of then‐alkyl α‐cyanoacrylate homologs. On aluminum surfaces, the opposite effect was noted.
