摘要:
AbstractBritish plants identified asAcaulon minusshow no clear distinction fromA. muticum; A. minuscannot be maintained as a distinct taxon. The spiny spores that reputedly distinguishA. mediterraneumLimpr. fromA. muticumdo not correlate with vegetative characters.A. mediterraneummust also be relegated to the synonymy ofA. muticum.

摘要:
AbstractThe status ofSprnceanthus marianus(Gott.) Mizut. in India has been assessed critically and it has been shown that the early report from that country is not tenable, the material beingArchilejeunea apiculifoliaSt. but recently found plants in India belong toArchilejeunea mariana(Gott.) St. and a detailed illustrated account of this species has been provided.

摘要:
AbstractThe recolonisation of bryophytes on soil during 3½years following fire in a mixed forest in south-west Tasmania is characterised by the presence ofMarchantia berteroana, Funaria hygrometrica, Ceratodon purpureusandPolytrichum juniperinum, while limited cover is provided byCampy lop us introjlexus, Tortella calycinaandBryum sauteri. It has been verified that the protonemal growth of the early colonising mosses is more rapid than non-colonising specles. The preference for spores ofFunaria hygrometrica, Ceratodon purpureusandMarchantia berteroanato germinate on burnt soil is confirmed. However, it has been shown that burnt substrates do not inhibit the germination of non-colonising species. Therefore, the rapid development of protonemata and gametophytes in the colonising species may be a critical factor for their success.
