摘要:
The author provided a full taxonomic treatment with descriptions, illustrations, herbarium specimens seen, distribution map, keys and relationships of the species ofDamiellaMaire & Weiller (Chenopodiaceae). This genus includes the species belonging toSalsolasect.Damiella(see BRULLO 1982), viz.:D. longifolia(Forsskal) Brullo comb, nov.,D. verticillata(Schousboe) Brullo comb, nov.,D. zygophylla(Batt. & Trab.) Brullo comb, nov.,D. schweifurthii(Solms-Laub.) Brullo comb, nov.,D. cruciata(Chevall. ex Batt. & Trab.) Brullo comb, nov.,D. gymnomaschala(Maire) Brullo comb, nov.,D. cyrenaicaMaire & Weiller,D. glomerate(Maire) Brullo comb, nov.,D. melitensis(Botsch.) Brullo comb, nov.,D. tunetana(Brullo) Brullo comb, nov.,D. sinaica(Brullo) Brullo comb. nov. The genusDamielladiffers from the genusSalsolafor the presence a well developped hypoginous disc, of staminodes alternating with the stamens, of leaves cylindrical or davate articulating at the base with a short coriaceous whitish pulvinus which is ventrally hollowed out and more or less wooly. Whilst it differs from the genusSeidlitzia, with which has close resemblance, for the presence of brances not jointed, leaves articulated on a basal pulvinus, hypogynous disc well developped, staminodes and stamen filaments shortly fused at the base, anthers appendaged, perianth segments equal or subequal enterely or only in the central part membranaceous. Phytogeografical and ecological informations are given too.

摘要:
The floristic knowledge of benthic marine algae of southern Italy appears irregular and not yet complete: up to now, in fact, there are large areas not sufficiently studied (e.g. coast of Calabria and Apulia). Nevertheless the availability of quite complete floras of some areas: gulf of Naples, W-Sicily, the Straits of Messina, the northern part of the eastern Sicilian coast, the southern part of the eastern Sicilian coast and the island of Linosa, permits to get an idea of general characteristics of algal flora of this region. This flora appears very rich of species (over 650). The degree of floristic similarity among ten Mediterranean areas (the above mentioned six areas of southern Italy as well as Catalan coast, côte des Albères, Adriatic sea and coast of Greece) was established. A hierarchical clustering of these floras was carried out. The results are expressed in a dendrogram. A noticeable similarity among the floras can be drawn from the dendrogram since they are linked above the 50% level of importance, excepting that of Greece alone (about 45%). A clustering, based on the chorological spectrum of each flora, was also carried out and then depicted in a dendogram which shows a much more marked degree of similarity among the floras. However, two groupes can be individuated, the first on encompassing the flora of the Adriatic sea as well as those of southern Italy (except Messina), the second one all the others.

The absorbtion and accumulation of eight elements were studied in the tolerant lichenCaloplaca aurantia(Pers.) Hellb. These criteria were used for comparative evaluations between relatively unpolluted (rural and suburban) areas and contaminated (urban-industrial) locations.

摘要:
The distribution and origins of selected Pteridophyta in the Mediterranean area is discussed. Five main periods and sources are indicated: ancient taxa in Equisetopsida and Lycopodiopsida which had an early Laurasian origin; Polypodiopsida that evolved in deciduous forest of the Northern Hemisphere in Paleocene- Eocene times; elements that arose in the tropics of the Cretaceous-Paleocene flora and developed in the warmer and wetter periods to be residual in the south-west of our area; those later species that secondarily spread from east or south-west Asia. The importance of Gondwanaland as a source of some of the older taxa is also briefly discussed.

摘要:
A discontinuous outline of the history of the climate and of the vegetation in Italy with particular reference to the oceanic warm and dry warm phases is given, bearing in mind some general principles and methods on the macrofossil and pollen record. Various methods from different points of view converge on the same general subject that is deciphering past climates. The results obtained using special parameters are finalized focusing on particular subjects. The oxygen isotope method of estimating paleotemperatures has been widely used on the long oceanic cores where climatic registrations were continuous. But from this method we can obtain global temperatures not sufficient to detect Mediterranean climate. For this purpose the identification of a dry summer is more useful than an annual mean temperature. When we have fossil plants as climate indicators, we will have, perhaps, an adequate tool for investigation of past Mediterranean climates. An integrated method of research provides a useful control through the connection of the optimized results from different sciences.

摘要:
