ABSTRACTA retrospective analysis of 174 cases of canine incontinence was made to determine the incidence of sphincter mechanism incompetence in the bitch. This diagnosis was made in 60 bitches (21 juveniles and 39 adults) and the clinical features and response to puberty and oestrogen treatment in these cases are discussed.

ABSTRACTThe results of acupuncture treatment in 32 cases of canine cervical disc disease are reported with special reference to the outcome, follow up and recurrence. Acupuncture was an effective therapeutic method of treatment in about 70 per cent of the cervical intervertebral disc protrusions. It had no prophylactic effect on the recurrence of the symptoms.

ABSTRACTThe use of the non‐depolarizing muscle relaxant vecuronium bromide is described in 21 dogs undergoing a variety of surgical procedures under general anaesthesia.
