摘要:
An apparatus is described for measuring the evolution rate of gas arising from an electrochemical or chemical reaction. The main feature of the apparatus is that the time of measurement is short and that the results are recorded electrically. Hence, both the gas evolution rate and its change can be followed, and the measurements can be automated. The apparatus can be used in corrosion testing and many electrochemical and chemical kinetics studies.

摘要:
A potentiostat employing digital selection of sweep range, sweep rate, and cell current measurement time has been built for use in staircase voltammetry, square wave polarography and voltammetry, and tast polarography. The use of these techniques enables background current reduction and therefore provides high sensitivity. The method of cell potential generation and control allows very high measurement precision. The instrument can be operated either manually or under complete computer control.

摘要:
In electrochemical studies of low level environmental contaminants at the National Water Quality Laboratory, a versatile polarographic instrument with the stability, sensitivity, and low-noise characteristic of instruments with solid-state amplifiers was desired. Such instruments are now commercially available, at prices ranging from approximately $2,500 to over $10,000. In the lower price ranges some loss of versatility is suffered because of design limitations on scan rates, current sensitivity, switching, and external connections to the operational amplifiers, for use with pulse techniques.
