摘要:
A luminescent spectrometer has been interfaced with a general purpose digital computer operated in a time-share mode. The computer controls both monochromators and logs the data on magnetic tape. By means of its constituent mode subroutines, the computer controls the spectrometer in any of six modes for the acquisition of luminescent information. It will record the excitation, emission or detailed three-dimensional spectra, integrate luminescent intensity at fixed wavelength coordinates, locate the wavelength region and general form of an unknown spectrum, and record luminescent intensity at fixed wavelength coordinates at selected time intervals, or oscillate either one or both monochromators between two fixed points so that the change of luminescence at either one or two points of the emission and excitation wavelengths can be monitored as a function of time.

摘要:
A miniaturized scintillation probe has been used to follow the movement of particles tagged with radioactive isotopes Ir-192 and Tm-170. The small size of the probe (2 mm x 10 cm) has overcome two traditional powder monitoring problems, that of removing a representative sample and of causing gross bed disturbance by inserting a large probe. The miniature probe may be used in situ or on-line; it gives an extremely rapid response. Two examples of the use of the probe are briefly presented. It has been used to follow the axial mixing in a drum mixer and to follow the segregation of particles due to vibration. The probe has many potential uses for monitoring the progress of particles in pastes, doughs, slurries, and suspensions, in addition to dry powders.

摘要:
A digital logic controlled analog voltage generator is described. The function generator provides symmetrical and unsymmetrical triangular waves in either a repetitive or a single sweep mode. Independent control of initial and final potentials, upper and lower potential limits, and sweep rate is provided. The initial scan direction is presentable and the scan direction can be manually reversed while scanning. A manual voltage limit override is also provided.
