摘要:
AbstractThe “triple bottom line” approach emphasizes not only economic goals, but social and environmental objectives as well. The “telework” option—in which employees work from home or a satellite office rather than from a central location—would appear to advance all three of these aims. But a close look at the specifics of teleworking makes clear that more data are needed to determine its ultimate impact. Moreover, despite its apparent advantages, teleworking is gaining acceptance less quickly than might be expected. For these reasons, telework offers a fascinating case study in the difficulties of applying the triple bottom line concept.© 1999 John Wil

摘要:
AbstractResearch clearly shows that the environment is not going to go away as an issue of public concern. In fact, for many people, the environment is no longer simply an issue—it is a way of life. This is not likely to change. What has changed, however, is today's consumer. Today we are faced with a different type of consumer: one who is more knowledgeable on environmental issues—and more demanding. Environmental messages can be effective in reaching these potential buyers—but only if corporate managers and marketers understand public concerns and learn how to craft their environmental marketing strategies. © 1999 Integrated Marketing Services (IMS) and Environmental Research Associates, a division of IMS, Princeton, New Jersey. 摘要:
AbstractManaging environmental risk and liability for corporations and consultants requires a prudent combination of insurance techniques, company risk control plans, pollution prevention, and the proper allocation of retention funds. This article presents a review of current risk management techniques used to shield profits from limited and catastrophic loss scenarios. We recommend that corporations and consulting firms integrate insurance and risk management planning to mitigate environmental liabilities, navigate business risks, and safeguard corporate performance..© 1999 John Wiley&Sons, Inc

摘要:
AbstractWho says environmental quality has to cost a bundle? Or that it's out of reach of the typical smaller company? In fact, says this article, a proactive environmental quality program offers significant cost‐avoidance opportunities and can allow a company to reap positive public relations rewards. The combination of a total quality production program and a proactive environmental quality program is a formidable force for success. And you don't have to be a big company to be an environmental leader.© 1999 John Wiley&Sons, I

摘要:
AbstractISO 14001 offers an excellent framework for improving your environmental management system. But making it live up to its potential will depend on using the proper data‐gathering and decision‐making tools. And one of the best tools around is total cost assessment.© 1999 John Wiley&Sons,

摘要:
AbstractThe U.S. Postal Service faces a range of environmental challenges as broad as those encountered by many large industries. The Postal Service's Northeast Area has responded with a carefully crafted, far‐reaching approach to environmental management that relies on several key components—chief among which is a comprehensive Environmental Compliance Master Plan.© 1999 John Wiley&Sons,
