摘要:
Es wird gezeigt, daß sich durch die Verwendung der konfokalen BrennweiteW0=b/2 (b= konfokaler Parameter) an Stelle des beam-waist-radiusw0als Kenngröße eines Laserstrahlbündels mit Gaußschem Intensitätsprofil die entsprechenden Abbildungsgesetze sehr einfach geometrisch interpretieren lassen, vgl. Bild 10. Eine wesentliche Rolle spielen dabei die sogenanntenW0-Halbkreise im Objekt—bzw. Bildraum. Für die Gewinnung von quantitativen Aussagen wird hier das sogenannteW0-Punktediagramm eingeführt. Die Ergebnisse werden auf die Konstruktion von Resonatoren mit inneren Linsen angewendet.

摘要:
The way in which broadening affects the gain saturation of a gas laser medium is discussed. After finding a suitable approximation to the error function, design equations for a laser amplifier as well as a laser oscillator are derived. It is found that output intensity in an amplifier increases exponentially for small input intensity and amplifier length, and linearly for large input intensity and amplifier length; in a laser oscillator the variation of output intensity with the laser length is also found to be more or less linear at long cavity lengths and high intensities, becoming more than linear at short cavity lengths, and as broadening gets to be more inhomogeneous.

摘要:
Dans cet article, nous nous proposons de déterminer, par une étude de propagation, des conditions pouvant faciliter l'observation de la génération de la seconde harmonique induite par un champ magnétique dans un milieu isotrope. On sait déjà que ce phénomène ne peut avoir lieu que dans un milieu optiquement actif. Nous montrons que deux cas sont remarquables. D'une part, lorsque le faisceau se propage perpendiculairement au champ magnétique, il se produit un phénomène analogue à l'accord de phase utilisé dans les cristaux, et l'intensité obtenue devrait augmenter fortement; d'autre part, lorsque le faisceau se propage suivant la direction du champ magnétique, la seconde harmonique est produite uniquement sur le dioptre.

摘要:
The magneto-optical rotary dispersion exhibited by mixed crystals of sodium chlorate and sodium bromate has been measured. The measured data could not be accounted on the basis of usual additive laws. Assuming that in a solid solution a cation is surrounded by dissimilar anions, an expression for the Verdet constant of the mixed crystal has been arrived at. This formula explains the observed data well.

摘要:
X-rays can be totally reflected when the incident ray makes a very acute angle with a reflecting surface. But the glancing angle becomes fairly large when a soft X-ray is used. A part of a quadratic surface or a toroidal surface can be used as the soft X-ray reflector to make images. Particularly, toroidal mirrors are promising from the practical point of view. The theory of the optical system, aberration, magnification and resolving power is discussed, and the possibility of making an X-ray microscope is proposed.

摘要:
A modification of the procedure of Birch and Green for computer generation of holograms is presented. The modified procedure is capable of generating holograms of more than 500 fringes with relative ease, thus making the testing of steep aspherics feasible without compensating optics. The ability of computer-generated holograms to evaluate aspherics was demonstrated by comparing the aspherical wavefront of a plano-convex lens at both on-axis and off-axis positions with the reconstructed wavefront of the hologram. The comparison indicated that the wave-aberration of the lens could be compensated by the hologram with an accuracy of ± λ/20.

摘要:
Unsymmetricity of diffraction patterns in the meridional plane is discussed. In optical systems having a largeFnumber, the unsymmetricity appears clearly in the diffraction patterns. Even in the aberration-free optics, the point of maximum intensity does not coincide with the geometrical focus, but is situated between the pupil plane and the geometrical focus.
