摘要:
This study lists the species of rodents living in the Pampa de Achala, a high plain in the Sierras de Córdoba, and analyses their habitat preferences and their Zoogeographic relationships. Five cricetine rodents in order of numbers captured wereAkodonsp.,Phyllotis darwinii, Oxymycterus paramensis, Reithrodon auritus, andOligoryzomys flavescens, and one caviomorph rodent,Galeasp. Each of the seven habitats sampled supported a characteristic mixture of species. Range extensions were documented for several species, and the first records for the Province for some of them. The population ofAkodonappears to be endemic. The composition of the rodent fauna confirms that the Pampa should be considered a distinct Sector within the Southeastern District of the Subandean Dominion, without close faunal connections with the rest of the Province.

摘要:
The genusNaesiotusAlbers, 1850 [‐ProtoglyptusPilsbry, 1897 ‐RimatulaParodiz, 1946b ‐ObstrussusParodiz, 1946b] is represented in Argentina by six living species:N. cakhaquinus(Döring, 1879),N. deletangi(Parodiz, 1946a),N. munsterii(Orb., 1837),N. oxylabris(Döring, 1879),N. pollonerae(Ancey, 1897) andN. rivasii(Orb., 1837). They come from a bolivian dispersion center and are distributed in the north‐western area (Prepuna, subandine and Pampas‐ranges) up to 33° S, in a discontinuous manner. A disjunct insular distribution appears in two species, which also occur at the borders of the lower river Parana. Two of these species ‐N. cakhaquinusandN. oxylabris‐ live in eremic and semi‐eremic areas, the others appear in hygrophylous subtropical forest, principally.N. cakhaquinusis a new combination, it has been relocalized only now since its original description. Here are designed lectotypes ofN. munsteriiandN. rivasii.

摘要:
The genusDrymaeusAlbers, 1850 is represented by five entities in the Republic of Argentina. Four of them belong to the subgenusD. (Drymaeus)and the other to the subgenusD. (Mesembrinus)Albers, 1850. Three of them ‐D. (D.) hygrohylaeus, D. (D.) hyltoniandD. (D.) poecilus‐ come from a bolivian dispersion center and they are distributed in the north‐western area, as far as 29° S. The others ‐D. (D.) papyraceus papyrifactusandD. (M.) interpunctus‐ come from a dispersion center in southern Brazil, and occupy Mesopotamia, up to 34° S. The disjunct distribution of the argentineDrymaeusappears to be related to subtropical areas of jungle and of compact or gallery forest. They live on branches and rotting trunks. They bury themselves in winter and in dry periods.

摘要:
Growth, mortality and recruitment were determined for a loco(Concholepas concholepas)population from Huasco (Northern Chile) six weeks after suspension of a two years closed fishing season. The study was based on a shellmound sample of 2103 specimens that came from a processing plant. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters obtained (Loo = 152–160 mm, k = 0.38–0.52) indicate a faster growth and a smaller asymptotic size than reported in the literature. Recruitment seems to occurr during most of the year being strongest over a period of 4–6 months, probably during winter and spring. Total mortality was estimated as approx. 75% per year, about 10% lower than reported for loco populations of Central Chile previous to the closed fishing season.

摘要:
The summer diet ofTyto albawas studied in Baños del Flaco, San Fernando, in the Andes of Central Chile. Numerically, its prey were mainly rodents (96.5%), and 20.5% of these were juveniles. The eleven species of rodents present in the area were eaten by the Barn Owl, including the fossorial species. The diet composition is indicative for the owl's activity in different microhabitats: ranging from rocky places, high in the valley, to the Andean shrub ecotone, and at lower altitudes including areas close to human settlements. Mean rodent prey size is 60 g, ranging from 20 to 220 g. The Barn Owl's ability to capture species of different sizes, behaviours, and in different habitats, as well as its ability to live in human settlements and in hard environments such as the Andean mountains may explain its widespread distribution.
