摘要:
A uniform method of analysing the six basic integrated antenna structures by taking the relevant device configurations into consideration is presented in this paper. The possibility of height reduction at resonance at low frequency operation is examined for normal and reverse bias operation of the device as well as push-pull and push-push modes of excitation of the antenna structures.Generalized high frequency analysis for the input impedance at feed points of a structure is worked out and results for particular cases, namely f.e.c.l. and f.e.b.l. are included. Possibility of using approximations for resonance at high frequencies is also outlined.

摘要:
It is shown, contrary to usual belief, that a 2° beamwidth antenna will (for usual display parameters) give better detection of small targets in sea clutter than a 1° beamwidth antenna for short pulse (0.05 to 0.1 μs) radar. The inadequacy of the logarithmic receiver as a constant false alarm rate processor for high definition sea-clutter is discussed, and the improvement from using a log-log characteristic demonstrated. Further advantage may accrue from following this system by a median detector. The advantages of high speed antenna scanning (400 rev/min or greater) to decorrelate clutter and establish pattern recognition on fast moving targets are considered, and proposals for a system embodying fast antenna scanning, median detector processing, and a memory display are advanced.

摘要:
The input rate of a digital data processor is determined by the clock speed of the logic used and this is limited by the settling time. The settling time for some key functions can be significantly reduced by modifying the timing of a logic-in-memory system. The clock speed of a multiplier or accumulator can be increased to almost the maximum toggle-speed of the shift register elements used, by conversion from parallel to diagonal timing. A multiplier has been designed which can accept one complete set of input coefficients per clock cycle at these speeds.

This paper describes analytical and evaluation techniques developed to provide a comprehensive picture of thick film materials. Examples are presented of the usefulness of the techniques in examining thick film materials and establishing the interactions which occur during processing. In particular, it is shown how the microstructure of the Du Pont 7800 and 1100 resistor systems have been identified, and how these structures are of use in understanding the electrical properties of fired resistors.

This paper describes how a microcomputer unit has been used to interface a serial data link to a communications processor. In the application considered, the communications processor is operating as a packet-switch in a store-and-forward data communications network. The use of software logic permits the interfacing of a serial data link to equipment for different applications. Estimates of the performance of the unit using a currently available microcomputer system are presented.

The composition of thick film pastes, the processes which occur during firing, and the structure of the resulting film are described and problems encountered in the development of these materials are discussed. The methods which have been used to produce conductors with high conductivity and adhesion, resistors with a wide range of value, insulants suitable for multilayer structures, and printed capacitors with the maximum possible capacitance per unit area are outlined, with emphasis on some new developments.
