摘要:
Après avoir revu l'ensemble des caractères morphologiques, anatomiques, caryologiques, embryologiques, phytochimiques, sérologiques et palynologiques les auteurs concluent à la nécessité de séparer les deux genresCneorumetNeochamaeleaet de rattacher la famille aux Rutales. Par l'étude détaillée des caractères du pollen, ils montrent également que l'ultrastructure de l'exine est identique dans les deux genres, bien que l'ornementation et le nombre des apertures soient différents. Le type pollinique des Cneoraceae est comparable à celui des Rutaceae, Simaroubaceae et vient étayer l'opinion fréquemment admise que la famille appartient à l'ordre des Rutales.

The pollen morphology of somePentaphragmaWall, species has been studied by light- and electron microscopy. To improve the rehydration of the dried material used, compound fixatives have been applied. Intine-held vesicles and fibrillar network in gaps and spaces of the exine stain positively for protein. The pollen morphology of the genus differs strongly from that of Campanulaceae, and shows distinctive characters of its own. Hence from a palynological point of view it appears correct to place the genus in a separate family.

Numerical analyses of six size and five shape measurements on 18 modern samples ofPicea abiespollen throughout Europe and on one fossil sample from England are presented. The data were analysed by principal components analysis and multi-dimensional plotting. Their results indicate that at least 3 pollen morphological types exist, one mainly in northern Europe, the second in southern and south-eastern Europe, and the third in the Swiss Alps and southern Poland. Reasons for these patterns of variation relate to different Holocene migration histories of spruce.

SEM investigation of pollen grain surfaces of four alpinePinusspecies,P. sylvestris, P. mugo, P. uncinataandP. cembraleads to the conclusion that tectum surface characters are less variable and more specific than other exine layers and pollen grain features inPinus.Nexine features appear more significant for higher taxonomic levels, like subgenera or genera.

摘要:
La paroi primaire des cellules tapétales bordant la loge de l'anthère est désorganisée précocement et, à la fin de la méiose pollinique, le contenu cytoplasmique n'est plus limité que par le plasmalemme et des résidus granulaires. Le caractère sécréteur du tapis est alors mis en évidence: émission d'orbicules osmiophiles, puis sécrétion d'une masse mucilagineuse qui repousse ces orbicules vers la surface des jeunes grains de pollen. Certaines autres cellules tapétales, situées principalement entre les cellules sporogènes, sécrétent uniquement des orbicules. Le problème du devenir de ces orbicules est posé et une comparaison avec les «corps d'Ubisch» est faite.

The taxonomic basis of a paper by K. Mitra, M. Mondal & S. Saha on “The pollen morphology of Burseraceae” (Grana 16: 75–79, 1977) is criticized. Apparently, there has been no cooperation with a specialized taxonomist, no use has been made of the many recent revisions, especially of SE. Asian Burseraceae, and the voucher specimens have been cited in such a way that checking with these revisions is impossible. Among the specific names mentioned many are incorrect, and some are completely unknown in taxonomy. It is to be regretted that this in itself careful and detailed work has lost much of its value by having been done on such a shaky taxonomic basis.
