摘要:
The external pollen morphology has been investigated in 45 taxa of Gnaphalieae (Compositae), predominantly from New Zealand, by means of light microscopy and SEM. Pollen grains of all taxa examined are more or less spheroidal and echinate. Features regarded as particularly distinctive include size, spine density, spine length, spine shape and nature of perforations. It is shown that the pollen grains provide characters which are taxonomically useful in classification of New Zealand Gnaphalieae. Based on pollen morphology,Haastiadoes not belong to the tribe Gnaphalieae, andGnaphalium(including the TasmanianEwartia planchonii)is distinct from the other New Zealand genera.

Pollen ultrastructure has been investigated in 35 taxa of Gnaphalieae (Compositae), predominantly from New Zealand. Pollen grains of all taxa examined are tectate‐columellate and caveate. The characters regarded as particularly distinctive include variability of columellar form and internal organisation of the columellae. The importance of pollen characters in the classification of the New Zealand Gnaphalieae is discussed. The species ofHaastia, characterised by senecioid pollen and internal tecta, do not belong to the Gnaphalieae. In the species with helianthoid pollen and sub‐columellae five different columellae types can be distinguished.

The pollen ofAlstoniahas been studied by light and scanning electron microscopy. The pollen grains are always colporate. Four distinct pollen types could be recognized. Type 1 (2‐aperturate) and type 2 (3‐aperturate) have rounded endopores, while type 3 (?<36 μm) and type 4 (?>49 μm) possess H‐endoapertures. Probably, all four types have harmomegathically inactive apertures and folding mesocolpia. Type 1 is found in five species of sectionAlstonia.The other species of this section and the monotypic sectionWinchiahave type 2. The sectionsDissuraspermum, MonuraspermumandTonduziahave pollen type 3. This type may be subdivided on the basis of some minor (overlapping) features, which more or less segregateDissuraspermumfromMonuraspermum.Palynologically, the monotypic American sectionTonduziaappears to be most related to the Malesian/Australian/Pacific sectionsMonuraspermumandDissuraspermum, and not to the African species of sectionAlstonia.

摘要:
The investigation identifies the two main types of pollen sedimentation in the Rhône delta, and presents synthetic pollen spectra in terms of ecological groups in order to predict the pollen source areas. Two different domains are studied: the lagoonal zone occupied by the Vaccarès where atmospheric pollen imput predominates and the Rhône mouth area (river delta and prodelta) where fluvial pollen influx prevails. The reflection of local and regional vegetation in the surface sediment pollen spectra is carefully discussed with reference to atmospheric pollen records and to water sample analyses. This work is designed to help the interpretation of past pollen spectra and paleovegetation and through them also paleoclimate reconstructions.

摘要:
Environmental monitoring of airspora components at two sites in the Brisbane area was carried out for an 18 month period, to cover two peak periods for asthma incidence in this region. Fungal spores, especially those assigned to the Fungi Imperfecti, comprised the most numerous group, and pollen numbers in all samples were consistently low with grass the most abundant pollen.Cladosporiumwas the most abundant single taxon found throughout the year.

A comparative study has been carried out of the relative efficiency of a Burkard sampler and Cour trap, by taking samples from the air of Seville (SW Spain) for two consecutive years (July 1992 to July 1994). The devices were subjected to identical conditions of installation. 16 specific pollen types were studied either because of their high presence in the regional atmosphere or because of their allergenicity. With both methods, the variations in weekly concentrations throughout the year were analysed. Then the data from the two traps was compared in order to compare the efficiency of the two methods.
