SummaryA new Rh phenotype is described which defines D (Rh:1), E (Rh:3), c (Rh:4), e (Rh: 5) but not G (Rh: 12). SummaryA patient was shown to be group A1B and secrete a normal amount of B substance in her saliva. She was also found to have free anti‐B in her serum. SummaryMany sera used in blood grouping contain a second antibody. Not infrequently this belongs to what appears to be a family of antibodies called variously anti‐Donna, anti‐Sturgeon, anti‐Ho, anti‐Bennett‐Goodspeed, anti‐Price, etc. The reactions with the sera are not always reproducible. The antigen was found in 7 out of 158 unrelated parents. In 5 of 72 negative x negative matings one child or more was positive.RésuméDe nombreux sérums utilisés pour la détermination des groupes sanguins contiennent un second anticorps. Il n'est pas rare que celui‐ci appartienne à la famille des anticorps appelés différemment anti‐Donna, anti‐Sturgeon, anti‐Ho, anti‐Bennett‐Goodspeed, anti‐Price, etc. Les réactions obtenues avec ces antisérums ne sont pas toujours reproductibles. Parmi 5 couples négatif x négatif sur 72, un enfant ou plusieurs enfants étaient positifs.ZusammenfassungZahlreiche der in der Blutgruppenserologie benützten Antikörper enthalten einen zweiten Antikörper. Summary(1) The strength of the A antigen was found to be increased by as much as a factor of two in the presence of a double dose of the A gene.(2) The subgroups A1and A2were detected by only some A antisera.(3) No qualitative difference was found between the A1and A2antigens.(4) Quantitatively, the A1cells carried 6–7 times the amount of effective antigen than that found on A2cells.Résumé1° La force de l'antigbne A a été trouvée augmentée plus de deux fois lorsque le gène A était en double dose.2° Les sous‐groupes A1et A2ne sont mis en évidence que par certains anti‐sérurns A.3° Il n'a pas été mis en évidence de différence qualitative entre les antigènes A1ou A2.4° Quantitativement, les érythrocytes A1comportent 6 à 7 fois plus d'antigènes que les érythrocytes A2.Zusammenfassung1. SummaryThe penetration of the A.N.F. into the chicken red cell was studied by absorption experiments and by the fluorescent antibody technique. It appeared that if the chicken red cells were kept as intact as possible, the A.N.F. was unable to reach the nucleus. The influence of complement on the phenomenon was studied.RésuméLa pénétration de l'A.N.F. (facteur anti‐noyau) dans l'érythrocyte de poulet a été étudiée grâce à des méthodes d'absorption et des méthodes d'immunofluorescence. Summary3 Rhesus monkeys responded to immunization with pooled species specific serum and Freund's adjuvant with the production of antisera, which gave precipitations with selected, individual sera of Rhesus monkeys. One of these antisera has been found to contain an antiljody against low density lipoproteins (LDL). The other two contained an identical antibody directed against a hitherto not characterized α2,‐globulin. The anti‐LDL serum cross‐reacts with all tested human sera. The significance of these findings. which led to the discovery of two serum protein polymorphisms in the Rhesus monkey, is discussed.RésuméTrois Maeaeus rhesus immunisés avec un sérum‐pool de la même espèce â l'aide de l'adjuvant de Freund, ont produit des immun‐sérumts précipitant avec des sérums de Macacus rhesus sélectionnés. L'un des immun‐sérums contient des anticorps anti‐LDL (Low Deusity Lipoprotein), les deux autres, qni se comportent de façon identique, des anticorps contre une α2‐globuline pas encore identifiée. SummaryThe serum of III patients with myasthenia gravis was examined by the indirect fluorescent antibody technique for the presence of antibodies against muscle tissue (rat diaphragm). 47 sera (42%) showed a positive picture, three different types of fluorescence being clearly recognizable. Nuclear fluorescence was observed in 15 cases (13.5%). The same technique pcrformed on human thyroid tissue revealed the presence of antibodies against thyroid tissue in 36 cases (32%).RésuméLes sérums de III patients atteints de myasthenia gravis ont été examinés par la méthode d'immunofluorescence indirecte pour mettre en évidence la présence d'anticorps contre le tissu musculaire (diaphragme de rat). 47 sérums (42%)) ont donné une image positive, trois différents types de fluorescence étant clairement reconnaissables. Une fluorescence nueléaire a été observée dans 15 cas (13,5%). La même technique pratiquée avec un tisso thyroidien humain a permis de mettre en évidence la présence d'anticorps antithyroidien dans 36 cas (32%).ZusammenfassungDie Seren van Ill Patienten wurden mit Hilfe fluoreszierender Antikörper (indirekte Methode) auf ihren Gehalt an Antikörpern gegen Muskelgewebe (Rattenzwerchfell) untersucht. 47 Seren (42%) zeigten eine positive Reaktion, wobei das Fluoreszenzbild drei Typen entsprach. SummaryThe results of serial tests for the serum factors Gm(b), Gm(x) and Gm(r) on individuals as well as on families are reported. The frequencies obtained for these factors in the German population were compared with those found in other countries. Analysis of the data according to the method of C. A. B. Smithconfirms the autosomal and dominant inheritance of the three factors.RésuméLes auteurs rapportent sur line recherche des facteurs sériques Gm(b), Gm(X) et Gm(r) chez des personnes isolées et chez des familles. Selon la méthode de C. A. B. Smith, ils comparent le pourcentage de la fréquence de ces facteurs dans la pnpulation allemande et les autres populations. Les valeurs obtenues parlent en faveur du fait que la transmission héréditaire de ces trois facteurs est conditionnée par des autosomes et a lieu selon le mode dominant.ZusammenfassungEs werden Befunde aus einer Untersuchung der Serumfaktoren Gm(b), Gm(x) und Gm(r) an deutschen Einzelpersonen und Familien vorgelegt.
