&NA;A patient with a malignant colojejunal fistula with associated severe weight loss and diarrhea is described. To the authors' knowledge, this paper represents the second reported case of this type of malignant fistula. A discussion of the pathogenesis and treatment of this rather unique fistula and a review of malignant coloenteric fistulas in general are presented.

&NA;A case of ectopic gastric mucosa occurring in duplication of the rectum is reported. Gastric ectopia in relation to the rectum is a rare entity, and this patient had a unique presentation as a perianal fistula which caused a considerable diagnostic problem.

&NA;Patients with polyposis coli have an increased risk of developing periampullary malignancies, particularly if duodenal polyps are present. Since periampullary neoplasms occur, on the average, 15 years following the initial diagnosis of colonic polyps, periodic follow‐up radiologic studies of the upper gastrointestinal tract are necessary in the management of polyposis coli.

&NA;A case of adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon with focal choriocarcinoma metaplasia is documented. Pathogenesis is briefly discussed, and clinical conditions, unrelated to trophoblastic diseases, associated with an increased level of serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) are reviewed.

&NA;Familial adenomatous polyposis coli is a heterogeneous disease with respect to genetics as well as its colonic polyposis and cancer phenotype. The authors report a family with variation in phenotypic expression of polyps ranging from isolated polyps to florid carpeting of the entire colonic mucosal surface. In addition to early‐onset colonic cancer, a patient with isolated polyps had a seminoma and subsequently developed gastroesophageal cancer. His son, also with isolated colonic polyps, manifested a pararectal rhabdomyosarcoma. The significance of these variations can only be assessed fully through the study of cancer of all anatomic sites in many additional families.

&NA;Primary linitis plastica of the colon is an uncommon tumor, with only 22 cases having been previously reported. Experience with two men and one woman between 17 and 55 years of age, portraying a spectrum of clinical presentations ranging from rectal bleeding to large‐bowel obstruction, is reviewed. Clinical and radiologic characteristics and histologic features helpful in making the diagnosis are detailed. Though the prognosis is grim, resective surgery, including oophorectomy in women, should be undertaken. Adjuvant therapy has been disappointing.

&NA;A young mentally retarded patient with self‐abusive behavior managed to dissect between the mucosa and muscularis layers of the anal canal, through the anus, using his fingers; he managed then to strip the mucosal‐submucosal layers of his rectum and colon all the way up to the splenic flexure and presented with an unusual two‐yard long “rectal prolapse” which was actually stripped colorectal mucosal‐submucosal tube. Diagnosis and management of this unusual patient are discussed. The authors could not find any similar case report in the English Medical literature.
