ConclusionsAmong lipomas of the colon, mixed submucous‐subserous lipomas are rare. The etiology is obscure. Diagnosis is difficult and rarely made without radiologic study of the colon with double‐contrast technic and air insufflation.Treatment is always surgical and prognosis is good.

SummaryA case of actinomycotic rectal fistula is reported. It demonstrates the importance of the most careful evaluation of the unusual or recurring rectal fistulas. Complete bacteriologic and histologic studies of removed tissue are essential to diagnose some of the unusual and rare rectal fistulas.

Summary and ConclusionsProfound anemia may be caused by hemorrhoids, and complaints referable to the anemia may be minimal. Before committing a patient to surgery, care should be taken to rule out other diseases. Arterial hemorrhoids probably represent arteriovenous fistulas and are frequently found in association with profound anemia.
