摘要:
We study a particle method for numerically solving a model equation for the neutron transport. We present the method and develop the theoretical convergence analysis. We prove the stability and the convergence of the method in L∞. Some computational test results are given.

In this paper we study the linear stationary transport problem in the external space of a sphere of radius a with perfect and diffuse reflection boundry conditions, constant total absorption cross section, albedo depending on the position. The use of analytical functional methods allows us to give the properties of eigenvalues of the integral transport operators defined in Lρ(a, ∞) spaces. 摘要:
In [13] the linear Boltzmann equation in a space of distributions is investigated, where the operators are not time dependent. Here, the more complicated case of time dependence is considered. The work in a space of distributions has an advantage, namely, one can construct a very general existence- and uniqueness theorem. In this way, classical Banach spaces can be regarded as special cases. This fact is pointed out in the second part of the paper.

We propose a systematic theory of the discrete Boltzmann equation for n-gases mixtures. We derive a general procedure to study the thermodynamical equilibrium. Finally we study the sound wave problem for a particular model, performing analytical results.

摘要:
Stationary and time-dependent transport of neutrons of one speed has been studied in spheres with totally absorbing cores. For stationary, critical reactors the number of secondaries per collision has been calculated numerically for various inner and outer radii. In the time-dependent case, the decay constant has been calculated for spherical shells of different inner radii and thicknesses. For a fixed ratio between shell thickness and inner radius, the curve of the decay constant versus shell thickness crosses the Corngold limit in the same way as the curve for a homogeneous sphere. When the ratio goes to zero the curve approaches that for an infinite slab. The behaviour is discussed in view of a new result from collision theory, viz. that the following condition must be fulfilled for a body at the point where the decay constant curve crosses the Corngold limit: the average exit distance of the neutrons is equal to the mean free path for scattering.
