摘要:
We study the solution of the multigroup integro-differential equation describing the neutrons behaviour for the space-time nuclear reactor kinetics. By the way of a projective limit of the transition probabilities, we obtain a stochastic differential equation. An approximate strong solution of the multigroup integro-differential equation is then obtained by “mixing” the partial solutions of the regularized differential equations corresponding to each of the terms of the second member of the initial equation. The approximate strong solution thus obtained converges in the distributions space, to the solution of the studied equation when the regularized coefficients tend to the real ones.

The problem of particle transportinan evacuated pipe is considered. This problem is modeled by treating the distance between pipe wall collisions as a “mean free path”, and using the reciprocal of this as a “cross section” in a transport equation. Such a cross setion is angularly dependent. Thus we are led to the study of a planar geometry linear transport equation with o(μ) = (1-μ2)1/2. Both the Wiener-Hopf method and a singular eigenfunction treatment are used to analyze the semi-infinite pipe problem. Comparisons are made with exact transport calculations, and two refinements are suggested to improve the accuracy of the models presented here.

We use a mathematical method to derive a one-dimensional model for particle transport in a pipe with reflecting walls. For the case of an evacuated pipe with particular reflecting boundary conditions for the walls, our model reduces to results obtained previously by Prinja and Pomraning.

A new theoretical analysis is presented for the discrete-ordinates flux dip in one-dimensional spherical geometry. It is found that the flux dip is due to an inconsistency between the discrete-ordinates equations (in the diffusion limit) and the diffusion equation. It is theoretically shown that this inconsistency (and hence the flux dip) can be completely eliminated through the use of a simple angular weighted-diamond difference scheme. Computational results are given which confirm the theoretical analysis. The technique has been extended to one-dimensional cylindrical geometry and has been found to be equally effective. Extensions to multi-dimensional geometries appear to be straightforward, but they have not been investigated.
