摘要:
We construct discrete Boltzmann equations describing the reactions between any number of chemicals. By including a heat particle to balance the energy, we arrive at a model for the chemistry of liquids that obeys the Arrhenius relation. We prove that all isolated systems within this class of models converge to equilibrium.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to give a systematic analysis of the compactness for one-dimensional transport equations, with general boundary conditions including all known classical boundary conditions. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for some power of (λ-T)-1Kto be compact whereTis the streaming operator andKthe scattering operator. We also give necessary conditions for some remainder termRn(t) of the Dyson-Phillips expansion to be compact. Finally, an open problem is indicated.

摘要:
The subject of this paper is the convergence properties of some iterative methods for solving a certain class of algebraic matrix Riccati equations arising in transport theory. A unified formulation, based on “regular splitting” of the coefficient matrices, is presented to solve the equation iteratively. Such formulation covers the iterative procedure proposed by Shimizu and Aoki, and Juang and Lin. Moreover, it is shown that the iteration with any “regular splitting” converges as long as the equation has a nonnegative solution.

摘要:
We present a quantum transport theory for an interacting electron-ion system in the presence of a strong laser field. On the basis of the center of mass approach, quantum-kinetic equations in their operator form are obtained, which directly reflect the nonlinear transport effects due to the laser field and the drift velocity of the electrons. When these equations are put into their macroscopic form, we obtain the plasma transport equations which depend on the energy loss functionIm{-1/ε(q,ω)}. We illustrate our theory, showing the proper way to calculate the collective part of the inverse Bremsstrahlung process.

摘要:
An inverse problem is solved to determine the spatially-dependent ratio of the scattering to total cross sections in a slab medium for which both ingoing and an outgoing boundary conditions are specified. Necessary and sufficient conditions on the boundary data are given to insure the positivity of the ratio and its existence and uniqueness. A stability result is also derived. Finally, an application to the time-dependent boundary data problem is presented.

摘要:
A general method of constructing the discrete models for the Boltzmann equation is suggested. This method allows us to get the discrete models which approximate the Boltzmann equation in any bounded domain of the velocity space and preserve the main properties of this equation-the conservation laws and H-theorem. Three different types of discrete models, depending on the kind of the differential collision cross-section, are considered.
