摘要:
Using an operator method, a general description of waves (including the correct differential equations for the electromagnetic field) innonuniformmagnetized plasmas is given to all orders in electron and ion temperatures provided a few not too restrictive assumptions are made. This permits a correct differential treatment of a bounded plasma to a given order in temperature. When the plasma is uniform, this furnishes a useful temperature-ordered form of the corresponding dispersion equation. If the quasistatic approximation is made, we reobtain the Bernstein-type description of a plasma.

摘要:
The computation of scattering kernels for a class of models of gas-surface interactions is reduced to a boundary-value problem. On this basis a new proof of the reciprocity law is given and several kernels are computed from physical models of the wall. In particular it is shown that a kernel which was previously deduced by formal arguments corresponds to a well-defined model of the wall.

摘要:
The rigorous mathematical theory of the time-dependent neutron-transport equation with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions is developed. The existence and uniqueness of the solution in the spaces of summable functions are demonstrated. The theory is applied to the case of an oscillating boundary source appearing in neutron-wave experiments, and the properties of the asymptotic wave solution are found.

摘要:
It is pointed out that in relativistic plasmas the transverse-field energy density should be treated on a par with the one-particle distribution function—that is, an enlarged Bogoliubov hypothesis should be used. It is shown that, if this is not done, there will exist a discrepancy between the particle-particle correlation function as computed by the Prigogine method and the same quantity as computed by the Klimontovich method. The implications for the quasilinear theory of relativistic plasmas are briefly discussed.

摘要:
The temperature-slip problem is solved exactly by means of the Wiener-Hopf technique. An exact solution is made possible by employing the generalized BGK model of scattering with a constant scattering cross section. An explicit expression is obtained for the temperature-slip coefficient and used to assess the accuracy of the variational method proposed by other authors.
