摘要:
The conventional method for criminal investigation and trial of cases in the law courts in developing countries is usually slow. Consequently, the society is characterized by prolonged periods of detention of the suspects awaiting trial and congestion in the prisons and law courts. This paper attempts to describe the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the investigation of crime. An Expert System (ES) is proposed which supports the storage and intelligent interactive processing of the knowledge acquired by study and experience of the human expert in the domain of criminal investigation, law and justice. One of the objectives of the study is to provide an intelligent computer‐based system which will enhance the efficient performance of the human expert in the domain of criminal investigation. The other objective is to provide a system for computer aided learning of criminal investigation.

摘要:
Since its introduction in the early 1970s the Decision Support System (DSS) concept has attracted a lot of attention from academics as well as users from business organizations. The literature abounds with accounts of systems that are claimed to have used the concept. The common characteristics of most of these systems are that they rely heavily on the use of quantitative models. In ill‐structured and higher level decision making quantitative models are used in conjunction with the qualitative models; in these cases a different approach and method in DSS development needs to be adopted. The objectives of this paper are twofold: to give a brief overview of the concept of DSS and Knowledge‐Based Systems and to describe the approach adopted and experience gained in conceptual analysis and modelling of the decision making process in an attempt to develop a Knowledge‐Based Decision Support System for Public Sector Management.

摘要:
Aid organizations represent an important source of funding for projects involving information technology (IT) in developing countries. However, few of these organizations see information technology as a new and important sector in development, despite the fact that numerous developing countries are themselves committing large human and capital resources to information technology development. This situation may change, given some new initiatives by a few organizations to begin helping developing countries build their own capacity in information technology. This article is a report on these initiatives, and is also a brief analysis of the role of the World Bank in information technology transfer.

摘要:
This paper describes research carried out into the use of computers by accountants in developing countries. The research objectives included an examination of the extent to which accountants used computers, the benefits they expected from usage and an identification of some of the factors limiting the greater use of computers. Data was collected from 249 respondents in 30 developing countries, using questionnaires and a strategic informant sampling technique. Collection of the data was completed in the latter half of 1987. This paper reports some of the findings of the project.

摘要:
A new centrally‐planned approach for the development of computer‐based information systems required by the Greek government is proposed. The overall structure and the technical characteristics of the new Greek local government information system at national level is outlined. A methodology is also proposed for the identification of the hardware and software needs of the individual local authorities and for the development of the necessary software.
