摘要:
A disk and concentric ring were successively presented to the left eye at seven interstimulus intervals. The right eye was presented with a disk which could be varied in intensity. The disk and ring were equated for area, duration and brightness. Four color combination (red disk-red ring, blue disk-red ring, red risk-blue ring, and blue disk-blue ring) were used. The observer adjusted intensity of the lone disk presented to the right eye, via a neutral density wedge, until it appeared equal in brightness to the disk presented tot he lift eye, which was being followed by the concentric ring. The results showed strong metacontrast when figures of the same color were used, moderate metacontrast when a red ring-blue disk was employed and no metacontrast when a blue ring-red disk was employed.

摘要:
The term. perception, means different things to different investigators. Some differences are fundamental tot he definition while others are a matter of semantics. Confusion tends to be minimized if the act of perception is related to the act of human communication. Perception is presented in this paper in terms of the organism as both a “source” and a “receiver” of information not only to and from others in the external environment but to and from itself as well.

摘要:
The Ophthalmetron, an instrument based upon the Foucault knife edge test for refraction, was used to measure refractive state of 100 patients who were also tes'ed by subjective test and by streak retinoscopy. The agreement between Ophthalmetron and subjective test was as close as that between retinoscopy and subjective test.

摘要:
In the operation of optical equipment, the optimum operation is determined by limitations imposed by noise. This is often a psychophysical concept. Trade=offs are thus often possible whereby superior performance can be achieved by a competent experimenter using carefully selected functional parameters. This is indicatd by examples using an infrared spectrometer.
