摘要:
The tissue irritating effect of a new local anaesthetic of anilide type (L67) in rat was judged from the tensile strength of healing wounds in tissue infiltrated with 0.5 ml of the solution.A 2% L 67 solution decreased the tensile strength by about 40% and a 3% L 67 solution by 56.7%.When a 2% L 67 solution and a 2% lidocaine solution were used the result showed that the lidocaine solution decreased the tensile strength by 21.8% compared to the L 67 solution.A comparison between a 2% lidocaine-epinephrine solution and a 3% L 67 solution with epinephrine 3.33%μg/ml showed that the tensile strength decreased with 31.6% in wounds inflicted in tissues infiltrated with 2% lidocaine-epinephrine solution. A comparison between L 67 and mepivacaine showed practically no difference in their effect on the tensile strength of the wounds.

摘要:
The placental transfer of F18as fluoride ions has been visualized autoradiographically in mice up to one hour following intravenous injection of the isotope. The foetal skeleton is seen to accumulate much less F18than the maternal skeleton.Following the simultaneous ingestion of F18+Ca45an autoradiographic technique, which gives roughly similar uptake-pictures for both isotopes in the maternal skeleton, has produced uncomparably stronger Ca45-pictures of the foetal skeletons. The often occurring soptty concentrations of F18in the fullterm mouse placenta were found to coincide with the concentrations of simultaneously injected Ca45, and to relate to the general areas of the degenerative placental calcifications.A quantitative study of the placental transfer in mice of simultaneously administered F18and Ca45showed a much smaller percentage of the F18and Ca45-dose in the foetuses up to 4 hours, in spite of a more complete absorption of ingested F18.The resulted are discussedi.al.from a clinical point of view and are viewed in relation to clinical data on record in the literature.

摘要:
This is a study of the effect of condensation pressure upon crushing strength and mercury content at various amalgams, and of the relation between crushing strength and mercury content. The results are presented in Tables 1 and 2, and in Figures 1, 2, and 3. The experiments show that and increase of the condensation pressure from 0.8 to 9.4 kg/mm2results in a continued increase of the crushing strength and a reduction of the mercury content (Figures 1 and 2). The experiments also show (Figure 3) that a reduction of the mercury content of the amalgams below 50% will result in an increase of the crushing strength from 40 to 75 kg/cm2/%.

摘要:
Investigation were made on the influence of temperature upon the crushing strength of amalgams, partly at elevated temperatures (Tables 1 and 2, Figure 1), partly after short heating and recording to room temperature (Table 3, Figure 2). Furthermore it was investigated how fast short-heated and recooled amalgam will recover strength (Table 4, Figure 3).The experiments show that the strength is essentially reduced by increased temperature, and that the amalgam specimens regain their mechanical properties after a relatively short time.

摘要:
THE“DENTUMATT”AN APPARATUS FOR TESTING FATIGUE DESIGNED WITH SPECIAL REGARD TO DENTAL PROBLEMSIn the present article an apparatus constructed by the authors for the determination of fatigue strength is described. This apparatus is called a Dentumatt”. Simultaneously and independently of each other six specimens of dental constructions, or parts of constructions, can be tested. The apparatus can work with constant stress (max. 200 kp), or constant deflexion (max. 10 mm). The cyclic frequency of stress can be varied between N = 120 to 300/min. It is possible to have pauses between the stress cycles. The specimens can be tested in a dry state at roo temperature, or in different liquid baths at varying temperatures, 37°C being the most appropriate temperature for testing dental constructions.

摘要:
Decalcified sections of the teeth and periodontium of monkey, dog and man were stained by peracetic acid-aldehyde fuchsin, oreinol-new fuchsin and impregnated with silver and viewed in polarized and non-polarized light. Both the silver and the peracetic acid-aldehyde fuchsin stained morphologically identical fibres. Oreinol-new fuchsin failed to stain these structures. Attention is drawn to the similarity between oxytalan fibres and nerve elements.
