摘要:
The distribution of pulmonary circulation was studied with radioactive particles in three normal men during slow walking and talking or sitting erect. Quantification of the results was done by collecting the information about the distribution of the radioactivity in the lungs in perforated tape, which was analysed by an image display and computer system. The perfusion per unit lung volume was calculated by dividing the percentage of the total counts in the lung fields falling in each region during the experimental conditions with the same percentage encountered in the supine, when the distribution of perfusion is even and thus directly correlated to the lung volume. Blood flow distribution was even during relaxed walking and talking. The normal hyperperfusion of the bases was found in the sitting. It is supposed that talking reduces ventilation to such a degree that vasomotricity due to basal hy-poxia makes perfusion more even. The physical work performed was so little, according to earlier reports, that it hardly could explain the even blood flow found

摘要:
The rate of disappearance of acetylene or nitrous oxide from the alveolar gas during rebreathing was studied in dogs and in man. The subjects, hyperventilating in steady state, were connected at end-expiration to a re breathing bag for 30 sec. After the initial 2-4 breaths the alveolar inert gas concentration followed a single exponential course until the beginning of recirculation. From the slope and intercept of this exponential at zero time the capillary blood flow and the tissue volume of the lung were calculated. Simultaneous determinations of the cardiac output were made with direct Fick method for oxygen in dogs and indirect Fick method in man. A good correlation was found between both methods. A theory is represented which takes into consideration the effect of ventilation limitation upon inert gas transfer within the rebreathing system

摘要:
The total compliance of lungs andthorax was determined in 27 men without pulmo-and thorax nary or cardiovascular disease by means of static positive pressure with weighted spirometry technique. The results were correlated to static lung volumes, body size and body surface area. mean value of Ctot of 101 ml/cm H2O corresponds with values obtained by other authors with different methods. A significant correlation was found between Ctot and TLC, VC, body size, and body surface area. The correlation to body weight and age was not significant. The results are discussed with respect to normal and pathologic conditions

Inhalation of prostaglandine F2α increases the sensitivity of the bronchial tree on dogs. This increased sensitivity against acetylcholine is probably caused by an increase of the sensitivity of the sensory receptors in the bronchial wall. Glucocorticosteroids do not avoid this effect of prostaglandine F2α. The pressure in the A. pulmonalis was more increased than the arterial hypoxaemia could cause. 摘要:
The effects of Bromhexin-Metabolite VIII (NA 872) and a new β2-mimetic (NAB 365) on mucociliary function were studied in isolated preparations of the airways of rats, hamsters and cats. NAB 365 markedly increased ciliary activity and was a potent secretolytic agent. Similarly, NA 872 increased ciliary ac- tivity, however, to a lesser degree than NAB 365. Both drugs had opposite effects on the consistency of the secretions. The ability to generate threads increased under the influence of NAB 365 and decreased under the influence of NA 872. Rats and hamsters were exposed to thesmoke of unfiltered cigarettes for prolonged periods. The results indicated that the smoke-exposed animals were smaller than their corresponding control mates. In addition, the exposed animals demonstrated a larger variety of mucociliary abnormalities including zones of ciliary inactivity, disturbance of the coordination of ciliary movement, impaired mucus production and altered rheological characteristics of mucus. The possible relationship to chronic bronchitis is discussed
