摘要:
Greater emphasis on the professionalization of laboratory experiences in teacher education is needed. Interpersonal relationships and many professional activities have been overlooked in present‐day student teaching programs. A new program is proposed that helps overcome such problems and is based upon the student teaching triad—a three‐member group comprised of the student teacher, supervisor, and cooperating teacher. The student teaching triad should be developed into an integral cooperative team. Such a team would reflect coordination and service between teacher preparation centers and schools. By building on today's loosely constructed triad structure, systematic, qualitative changes can be developed to provide meaningful interaction and professional service between the candidate, supervisor, and cooperating teacher. These changes will result in a higher level of professionalism in the preparation of teachers and in higher teacher quality.

摘要:
The predictive validity of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores for doctoral degree programs in education at Colorado State College were investigated. The predictor variables included two GRE aptitude scores, three GRE area scores, plus the GRE advanced education score. Criterion variables included: (a) grade point average in doctoral studies; (b) graduation versus dismissal from the program; (c) normative judgment analysis (JAN) rating; and (d) ipsative JAN rating. Except for the normative JAN criterion, multiple correlation coefficients were all statistically significant though weak from a predictive viewpoint.
