摘要:
Seventy‐seven teachers under training in the Graduate School of Education of Long Island University responded to a Job Values Questionnaire. The subjects were instructed to rank eleven job values in order of preference. Median rankings for the samples were secured and analyzed. The values held in highest regard dealt with an interesting and stimulating job, freedom of expression, helping others, and independence. Implications of the findings are discussed and recommendations are made for further studies.

摘要:
While many colleges emphasize both cognitive and affective goals in their teacher preparation, the implementation of these goals is quite another story in that affective goals are ignored and virtually no efforts are made in appraising growth in this domain. A major problem has been the absence of suitable criteria for assessing affective behavior. This study was concerned with the efficacy of the Taxonomy of Educational Objectives: Affective Domain (TEOAD) as a device for evaluating educational outcomes in the affective area. Nineteen subjects were assigned to three counseling groups and their affective behaviors were rated by three judges using criteria from the TEOAD. Findings suggest that although the criteria are quite useful, they seem to involve a number of dimensions beyond emotion and do not discriminate clearly among them.

摘要:
This article raises and answers questions about the relationship among specified constructs of creativity manifested by the counselor trainee and his approach to counseling. The Porter Test of Counselor Attitudes, an instrument useful in categorizing the responses to structured counseling situations as evaluative, supportive, probing, understanding, interpretive, or other, was administered. The subjects, a group of 27 graduate students in counselor education, were also administered the Consequences test and the Alternate Uses test in order to measure their strength in specific constructs of creativity. No statistically significant correlations were found among creativity and approach to counseling factors, although creativity was shown to have some influence on the counselor's approach. Experience in an educational setting was shown to be significantly related to the preferred approach of the counselor.
