摘要:
Treating a simple liquid metal as a dense two-component plasma consisting of ions and electrons, we derive a rather general screened interionic potential within the framework of the thermodynamic Green function technique. The resulting potential incorporates both ions and electrons into the screening and contains pseudopotential terms of any order. Similar to Hubbard for the electrons, we derive also a static ion local-field correction which accounts for ion—ion correlation effects in the Montroll—Ward approximation. The interionic potential in the case of liquid Cs is strongly modified in comparison with the effective potential derived within second-order pseudopotential theory.

摘要:
Reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) modelling has been used to create three dimensional particle configurations of condensed4He that are consistent with diffraction data at ten different temperatures across the superfluid transition. Here it is shown that all observable changes in the data are within the experimental uncertainties, so no conclusions can be drawn concerning possible structural differences between normal fluid and superfluid. The local structure is found to be dominantly icosahedral.

摘要:
Modified form of the pressure equation appropriate to liquid alkali metals is applied to the calculations of the thermal pressure coefficient and the thermal expansion coefficient. Comparison is made with the hard sphere reference system to understand the role of softness in the pair potential on the thermodynamic properties of alkali metals.

摘要:
A microscopic interpretation is proposed for the behaviour of the superconducting transition temperatureTcas a function of hole concentrationpin La2-xSrxCuO4when oxygen vacancies are suppressed. At highp∼ 0.32 a BCS-type formula forTcis assumed, whereas at lowp∼ 0.06 it is proposed that the holes undergo Wigner crystallization. Near the Wigner transition, one has a strongly correlated hole liquid, and Cooper pair binding will become increasingly difficult asp→ 0.06 from above, because the Fermi distribution is strongly changed from the unit step function, appropriate nearp∼ 0.32. Some experiments are proposed to test the microscopic model put forward here.
