摘要:
The generalized optimized random-phase approximation (ORPA) for binary mixtures is applied to an investigation of the structure of liquid Al-Ge alloys. We show that the liquid structure and its variation with composition is strongly influenced by medium- and long-range interatomic forces. The short-range structure is characterized by almost concentration independent coordination numbers for alloys containing up to 40 atomic percent Ge. At about 50 atomic percent Ge the coordination changes to smaller coordination numbers characteristic for liquid Ge. The long-range structure is rather complex and is determined by the interplay of three different length scales: the effective hard-core diameters of the two atomic species and the Friedel wavelength of the oscillations in the interatomic potentials.

We present IR absorption, polarized and depolarized Raman scattering data inn-pentanol and in 2methyl-2butanol. The measurements, performed over a wide temperature range, concern the fundamental O—H stretching vibrations. The experimental results confirm that intermolecular H-bonding effects play the main role in determining the shape and the evolution with T of the spectra. The deconvolution of the polarized Raman spectra in symmetric bands gives useful information concerning the dynamical properties of these systems. The analysis of the frequency shifts, the broadenings and the relative intensity variations with respect to the isolated O—H stretching bands confirm the existence of molecular aggregates with different spatial and/or topological conformations. The close analogy found for appropriately reduced IR absorption and depolarized Raman spectra proves that a vibrational density of states (VDOS) for both alcohols exists. These spectral features can be rationalized in terms of cooperative models recently used to interpret the vibrational dynamics of structured systems.

Isentropic compressibilities for binary liquid mixtures of cyclohexanone withn-hexane,n-heptane, 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, benzene, toluene and tetrachloromethane have been computed using measured density and sound velocity data at 298.15 K. Excess isentropic compressibilities exhibit an inversion in sign in the system cyclohexanone with toluene and in the remaining systems the excess property is negative over the entire range of composition studied. The results have been discussed in terms of the difference in molecular size and shape of the components, and specific interactions between unlike molecules.

Viscosities at 303.15 K have been measured for binary liquid mixtures of 1,1,2,2-tetra-chloroethane (C2H2C14) withn-hexane,n-heptane,n-octane andn-nonane. The viscosity data have been analysed in the light of absolute reaction rate and free volume theories of liquid viscosity. The values of ηEare negative over the entire composition range. Further, the study has been extended to evaluate interaction parameter,d. The values of both ηEanddindicate the existence of dispersion forces between unlike molecules.

摘要:
Sound velocities for binary liquid mixtures of diethylamine (DEA) and triethylamine (TEA) with isomeric butanols have been measured at 303.15 K. The sound velocity data along with densities have been used to compute isentropic compressibilities(Ks)and the deviation in isentropic compressibilities(ΔKS). The values ofAKSwere found to be negative over the entire range of composition in all the systems. The negative values suggest that strong hydrogen bonding interaction exists between unlike molecules. The results also indicate that the interaction decreases with increase in branching of the alcohol.
