摘要:
Accurate measurements on the static structure factorS(Q)for liquid bismuth at 566 K are reported. The non-simple structure of bismuth is discussed in the light of existing theories for liquid metals. The pair distribution function is evaluated as well as the first order pair potential according to the procedure suggested by de Angelis and March. The results have been used to calculate the fourth energy moment of the dynamic scattering function and good agreement is obtained with recently published experimental results.

摘要:
The problem of extracting interatomic pair potentials from diffraction data for metallic alloy glasses is discussed and examples are given using experimentally obtained structure factors. First, three transition metal-metalloid glasses are treated approximately, as pseudo single-component assemblies with encouraging preliminary results. A second analysis, using the correctpartialstructure factors for a Ni64B36glass, is found to be a more difficult case, which highlights the limitations of even the best current diffraction data for this purpose. The possible future extension of this work is discussed, in the context of the need for fundamental theories of metallic glass structures.

摘要:
We demonstrate that non-locality of the model potential plays a dominant role in the determination of the structure factor of alkali metals in the OCP model. Shaw's non local model potential combined with an analytic form of the direct correlation function in the Baus and Hansen scheme is found accurate to determine the structure factor of alkali metals up to the first peak. on leave from Kanpur University India. low-q behaviour they are displayed in last column to compare with bare OCP reference system in Baus and Hansen scheme.

摘要:
The ideal associated solution model for the thermodynamic mixing functions of the binary liquid alloys with the stable compound is developed. It is suggested that congruently melting compound exists in the form of the arbitrary size complexes in the liquid alloy. For the alloys with stable compound of AB-type the distribution of the mole fractions of the complexes of any sizes is found. The thermodynamic mixing functions are expressed by the only energetical parameter (bonding enthalphy ofABpair). It is shown that pair enthalpy ofABpair can be evaluated from the melting temperature and geometry of the crystal lattice of /IB-compound in nearest neighbours approach.

摘要:
The diffusion coefficients of both the proton and the cation are measured by means of a spin-echo technique in a solution of LiCI at various temperatures and concentrations. The aim of the present work is to obtain experimental values for the diffusion coefficients defined from a microscopic point of view. In a next paper the diffusive behaviour of the same system will be investigated from a macroscopic behaviour.

摘要:
The macroscopic diffusive behaviour of a solution of LiCI is investigated by an optical technique. The time evolution of a macroscopic concentration gradient is detected. The main goal of the present work is to compare the obtained results with the microscopic values of diffusion coefficients of both salt and water, previously found in an NMR measurement.

摘要:
The structure factors and radial distribution functions of liquid sodium and aluminium were calculated using the Hypernetted chain equation and the Machin-Woodhead-Chihara (MWC) integral equation. Various oscillatory potentials suggested for these metals were considered in an attempt to determine the applicability of these integral equations for these potentials. The calculated results are compared with molecular dynamic simulation results. These results indicate that the HNC equation underestimates the main peak inS(k). When the Friedel oscillations are absent then MWC theory gives good results forS(k). But when Friedel oscillations are present then MWC equation reproduces simulation results beyond the main diffraction peak.
