Some aspects of the phase diagrams are considered for the homonuclear diatomics H2, N2, O2and the halogens I2, Br2and Cl2. It is first pointed out that, at the critical point, N2and O2resemble argon, while H2has common elements with He.

摘要:
The pair distribution function,g(r), for Ni and Cu at various temperatures above melting are investigated by using the Finnis-Sinclair (FS) many-body potentials and the thermodynamically self-consistent Variational Modified Hypernetted Chain (VMHNC) theory. The overall agreement with experiment is reasonably good. The calculations indicate that the many-body interactions, precisely taken care of by the FS potentials, are important for the study ofg(r) for the liquid transition and noble metals. The results also permit us to examine the applicability of the temperature independent approximation of the FS potentials.

摘要:
Conductance measurements are reported for iodides of tetramethylammonium (Me4NI), teraethylammonium (Et4NI), tetrapropylammonium (Pr4NI), tetrabutylammonium (Bu4NI), and tetrahexylammonium (Hex4NI), in the water+N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) mixtures over the whole composition range, except for Me4NI and Hex4NI, where the composition range are 0-50 mol% and 50-100 mol% of DMF, respectively, at 298.15 K. The data obtained have been analyzed by the Fuoss-Justice equation, in terms of the limiting molar conductances (Δ0), the Walden products (Δ0η) and the association constant (KA). Variation in the Walden products with solvent composition are briefly discussed. The results obtained here were also compared with the literature data.

摘要:
The static structure factorS(k)for liquid sulfur is calculated via an analytical solution of the Polymer Percus-Yevick (PPY) equation using the fused hard sphere polyatomic model. As the first step in this direction we have applied the ideal chain approximation in which formation of ring polymers is neglected. The chain molecule is represented to be formed by hard sphere beads with two independent attractive sites displaced inside the hard core. The beads adjucent within a given chain penetrate each other at a distanceLbetween their centres. Theoretical results are comparted with experimental data. The theory gives the correct qualitative form for the small and large wavelength region of structure factor. The analysis of theS(k → 0)limit is presented also.
