摘要:
Autocomelation spectra for ion-density fluctuations in molten RbBr are evaluated over a wide range of wave number (0.3 Å−1≤q≤ 7 Å−1in the microscopic region of wave number and frequency. using a memory-function theory which neglects thermal fluctuation effects. The results are critically compared with data obtained by the Argonne group through neutron inelastic scattering experiments and computer simulation. Agreement is good in an intermediate range of wave number (1 Å−1≤q≤ 4 Å−1) but progressively worsens outside this range. In particular, the need for a more complete generalized-hydrodynamic theory at long wave-lengths, inclusive of couplings to entropy fluctuations, is underlined.

摘要:
The magnetic susceptibility of pure tellurium in the solid and liquid states was measured over the range of temperature from 20 to 1000°C. It was found that the temperature dependence in the magnetic susceptibility of liquid tellurium might be interpreted in terms of Cabane and Friedel's model [J. de Phys.,32. 73 (1971)] on the chain-network structural transition in liquid tellurium.

摘要:
It is well known that the theory of the quadrupolar relaxation rate, R1Q, may be expressed in liquids in terms of a time-dependent correlation function which describes the relative motion of the atoms. A new, intuitive approach to the correlation problem is developed, emphasising the effect of the close-range atomic encounters on the relaxation rate and an explicit T−½temperature dependence of the contribution to R1Qfrom such processes is demonstrated. Other contributions are discussed, but since the experimental measurements of the quadrupolar relaxation rate in liquid metals indicate a close proportionality to T−½it is suggested that the short-range collisions play the dominant role in determining the relaxation rate.

摘要:
Experimental excess volumes VEfor 23 binary liquid mixtures consisting of polar (ethers, alcohols, amines or chloride hydrocarbons) + non polar components are compared with theoretical predictions of the equations of state of Snider and Herrington, and Guggenheim. The former predicts satisfactorily the sign of experimental VEvalues in most of the cases, while the latter gives systematically large negative values. The one-fluid and two-fluid relations do not differ generally in their results.

摘要:
Theq= 0 limits of the partial structure factors in aqueous solutions of NiCl2are calculated by using experimental data on osmotic coefficients, partial molar volumes and recently available data on the isothermal compressibility. Use has been made of the Beeby formalism, only slightly modified for the case of an AB2type salt. The computed values of the structure factors usually not accessible by experiments, are gwen as a function of the concentration for a temperatureT= 25°C.
