摘要:
The electromigration of22Na has been studied in liquid Na-K of two compositions, about 1% and 11% Na. For the low Na alloy the effective charge number Z*exp(of tracer motion relative to container) ranges from about − 12 at the m.p. to − 5.5 at 300°C, and for 11% Na from − 3.5 at the m.p. to − 2.5 at 150°C. The migration velocity, obtained by a method free from convective disturbances, is found to be by an order of magnitude higher than that quoted in one earlier investigation, and by some 50% higher than another set of data. Theoretical arguments, connecting Z*expwith the resistivity increment per impurity atom, are well borne out by the present results, and also predict the change of sign observed at higher Na concentrations.

摘要:
An expression has been derived for the diffusion coefficient in terms of the interatomic potential, the pair distribution function and the selfcorrelation function in a liquid. By making use of an earlier result for the time-dependent pair distribution function, which includes correlation in the relative motion of two atoms, the expression has been made applicable to any type of interatomic core potential. In particular it will be useful in a liquid metal where a relatively soft core is a generally accepted feature of the effective interionic potential.

摘要:
Using the assumption of concentration independency, partial functions are calculated from experimental interference functions of molten Cu-Sb alloys reported earlier. The partial radial distribution functions yield partial coordination numbers from which by a weighted sum the total coordination numbers can be calculated. The comparison of these calculated values with the coordination numbers obtained directly from the total RDF shows good agreement. The partial coordination numbers confirm the compound formation in the melts of certain composition, whereas the tendency for segregation existent in the concentration range from 61 to 90 a/o Sb is not indicated by these numbers. The distancesrIgiven by the partial RDF can be composed by a weighted sum which shows good agreement with the experimental values.

摘要:
Diffraction experiments with 21 alloys from the system Cu-Sb were done by means of neutrons (1.19 Å) in transmission and by X-rays in reflection (Mo Kα, ţH-ţH goniometer). Corrections for neutron diffraction data are given and the RDF were calculated. Discussion of the nearest neighbours' distancerIand the coordination number z versus the concentration was done. With variation of the concentration the melts show compound formation, segregation tendency or statistical distribution of the atoms of both components. The quantitative subdivision of the melts with 15 up to 61 a/o Sb into two structural components shows that the melts with 44 a/o Sb contain up to 37 Mol% of Cu2Sb agglomerates.
