摘要:
A dielectric study of H-bond complexes of three acetates namely ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, and benzyl acetate with the proton donor (O-Cresol) has been made. The equilibrium constant and the thermodynamic parameters for the association process as well as the dielectric relaxation process have been determined from the dielectric data using an equation, proposed in our earlier paper. The results obtained being in agreement with the literature values thus support the validity of the proposed equation.

摘要:
The complex formation model of Bhatia and Hargrove (BH) to explain the thermodynamic properties of compound forming A-B alloys is reformulated using a quasi-lattice picture. The formulation is explicitly carried out to an approximation where the pseudo-ternary alloy (of A and B atoms and AμBνcomplexes (μ, ν small integers)), envisaged in BH, is treated in the quasi-chemical approximation. It is advantageous over BH in two major respects: Firstly, it gives useful insight into the two approximations used in BH, since these follow from it by simply going to a lower (zeroth) approximation and setting the coordination numberzof the alloy to bez= 2 andz= ∞. Secondly, unlike the BH approach, it provides also an expression for the short range order parameter α1for nearest neighbours. The effect of varyingzin the formulae is examined and a brief discussion of α1is given.

摘要:
The integral equation perturbation theory of Lado, Madden and Fitts(MF) was combined with the Optimized Cluster Theory (OCT) of Weeks-Chandler-Andersen in calculating the radial distribution functions for two oscillatory potentials suggested for liquid sodium and aluminium. These calculations properly take into account the softness of the repulsive part of these potentials. The results are compared with molecular dynamic simulations, the high temperature(HTA) and with Percus-Yevick and Mean spherical model results.

摘要:
The behavior of the state of liquid water is studied by means of changes of refractive indices of the visible light region based on the data of Tilton. A fairly simple model is assumed for the structure of liquid water. Lorentz-Lorenz's formula is employed for the molecular structure of liquid water. The visible light region is taken between the ultra-violet and the infra-red regions, and it is apart from the fundamental absorption bands or lines in both regions. Therefore, even though the contributions from the both regions to the behaviors of the refractive index may play a dominant role, but they can be treated in the simple form of Lorentz-Lorenz's formula. It is found that the behaviors of induced dipoles of liquid water are closely related with molecules and electron clouds. It is also found that when our improved theory is applied, many models of liquid water which have been proposed by many investigators can be understood consistently without any contradiction. It is shown that when ice transforms to liquid water the deformation of electron clouds occurs; the long-range force of water molecules corresponding to melting is changed.

摘要:
Brillouin spectra in molten Antimony Trichloride are investigated for the first time. Measurements are performed both in the normal and in the supercooled region. The acoustic velocity and absorption, obtained by a refined method of analysis of the experimental data, as function of frequency and temperature, show a dispersion that is characteristic of associated liquids. This acoustic anomaly is interpreted in terms of a relaxation phenomenon in which the strong intermolecular forces are involved.
