摘要:
AbstractA sample of sexually experienced college students was utilized to explore the affective reactions of women to their first sexual intercourse and to identify possible correlates. Pearson product‐moment correlations and multiple regression analyses were employed to test the association between affective reactions and a group of predictor variables, including social background, family background, peer influences, sexual attitudes, adolescent courtship experiences, and situational factors of the first intercourse. The results indicate that women experience a wide range of affect and that pleasure, anxiety, and guilt appear to be the most salient of these affective reactions. Correlational analyses reveal that previous rehearsal of non‐coital sexual interaction and situational components of the first intercourse itself are important predictors of these affective reactions. The report closes with a consideration of potential avenues for future research.

摘要:
AbstractA sample of 65 male transvestites and a sample of 33 male to female transsexuals were compared with groups of 57 gay males and 61 men whose sexual orientation was not identified. Goals of the study were to test hypotheses related to childhood experiences and to gather descriptive data about current sex patterns, lifestyles, and occupations, in order to better describe the transvestite and transsexual phenomena. The psychoanalytic hypothesis that members of both of these groups would have originated in homes with absent fathers was not supported by the data. A lack of interest in sports as a marker for feminine behavior correlated with a transsexual identity but not a transvestite one. On the other hand, cross dressing was an early behavior among transvestites but not among transsexuals or members of the gay control group. Transsexuals reported more unhappiness as children and less academic achievement. Current sexual orientation and lifestyles suggested a dominant pattern for each group, but there were enough individuals with variant patterns to suggest that most generalizations still need to be tentative.

摘要:
AbstractThis paper presents a new, short‐form scale that was designed to measure the extent to which a person adheres to a liberal or a conservative orientation toward human sexual expression. It has a score range from 0 to 100, a reliabilityα=.94, a standard error of measurement of 4.20, and good construct, factorial, and concurrent validity. The paper presents the major research findings that serve as a basis for the partial validation of the scale.

摘要:
AbstractThe proposition that feminine gender role in male homosexuals is a function of societal sex roles and attitudes toward homosexuality, as well as parental factors, was examined by administering tests of gender role, gender role conservatism, and attitudes toward parents to a sample of 176 Swedish and 163 Australian homosexual men. With homosexuality constant, it was found that feminine gender identity was more characteristic of the homosexuals in the more gender‐role rigid and anti‐homosexual society (Australia), independent of differences in perceptions of parents. This was taken to indicate support for the hypothesis that in anti‐homosexual societies with rigid gender roles, opposite‐sex gender identity in homosexuals will be, to some degree, a function of believing that heterosexual relationships are the only appropriate ones, and that individuals who are homosexual will thus validate same‐sex preference by opposite‐sex identification. The findings also support the more general hypothesis that gender role is based on societal, as well as parental, models.

摘要:
Five men underwent circumcision in adulthood for reasons of infection, inflammation, or phimosis. Several years later, they reported on the erotosexual sequelae. All reported a prolongation of the period prior to ejaculation, though none had been genuine premature ejaculators. Other variable sequelae were diminished penile sensitivity, less penile gratification, more penile pain, and cosmetic deformity. Orgasm frequency was the same or less, and there was no postsurgical impotence. Loss of stretch receptors and reflexes might explain the major erotosexual changes. In most instances, a dorsal cut and/or antibiotic treatment achieves the same effect as circumcision, and is less risky in terms of possible pathological sequelae.
