摘要:
A patient with pathologically confirmed medullary carcinoma of the thyroid with lymph node metastases was noted to show uptake of radiothallium, radiopertechnetate, and radioiodine. A perchlorate washout test was markedly positive, indicating that the uptake was largely due to trapping.

摘要:
A 49-year-old woman was diagnosed as having multiple myeloma and tuberculosis of the spine (Pott's disease) in 1973. In 1975, she complained of skin nodules in her lower extremities. Biopsy showed that these were amyloid nodules. A bone scan in 1978 showed accumulation of Tc-99m-MDP in the nodules. To our knowledge, this finding has not been previously described.

A case of Wegener's granulomatosis diagnosed by open lung biopsy demonstrated intense pulmonary uptake of Ga-67 in the involved portion of the lung. This represents the first reported case of this disease showing gallium uptake.

摘要:
Eighteen patients with either clinically or laboratorydetectable gastrointestinal bleeding were studied using Tc-99m-PYP in vivo labeled red blood cells. In those patients with massive gastrointestinal bleeding, the site of bleeding was usually detected within the first half-hour of scanning. Slower bleeding required longer scanning time. In several patients, bleeding sites were detected which could not be located by other means. It was experimentally determined that as little as 5 ml of ingested whole blood labeled in vivo with Tc-99m-PYP could be detected in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Aplasia or atrophy of the left lobe of the liver may result in a liver scan appearance easily misinterpreted as showing evidence of tumor involvement. Three illustrative cases of the phenomenon are presented.
