&NA;A comparison of stress and rest201Tl myocardial perfusion images with selective coronary arteriography was undertaken to determine the role of the radioisotope procedure in evaluating patients suspected of having coronary artery disease. Twenty‐three patients were examined by both techniques. The results indicate that201Tl imaging correlates well with arteriographic findings. False positive201Tl studies were not encountered when strict criteria of interpretation were applied. It is concluded that201Tl imaging can be a useful adjunct in the evaluation of patients with ischemic heart disease.

&NA;A patient is described who demonstrated renal visualization of sulfur colloid during acute congestive heart failure and after several months of convalescence. In the cases previously reported, all patients had the common finding of chronic congestive failure. It is proposed that the effect of congestive heart failure is to alter the renal vascular physiology by initiating a strong, potentially chronic, phagocytic function in the kidney. Future observations on the relationship between kidney and reticuloendothelial system activity may explain the renal uptake of sulfur colloid in the liver‐spleen scan.

&NA;Twenty‐eight patients had bone scans using 15 mCi99mTc‐pyrophosphate performed on both a 10‐inch field‐of‐view camera with moving table and a 15‐inch field‐of‐view camera with moving table. Average count rate was about two‐and‐one‐half times greater with the 15‐inch camera than with the 10‐inch camera. Limitations in the LFOV images included slightly poorer resolution and a potentially annoying midline field match artifact over the spine.

&NA;Cystadenoma of the larynx is a rare tumor. Histologically, it is similar to the parotid papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum (Warthin's tumor), which is easily sanned with99mTc‐sodium pertechnetate. The authors report a case of laryngeal cystadenoma that was scanned with99mTc‐sodium pertechnetate. There was no evidence that such scanning is useful in the detection and follow up of this tumor.

&NA;CT and RN imaging both appear to be less sensitive in detecting lesions in the posterior fossa than in the supratentorial area. This study compares the accuracy of these two modalities in 27 patients with a variety of proven posterior‐fossa lesions, all studied by both methods. The overall yield of RN studies in these cases was 59%. The yield of CT without contrast was 67%. The combination of RN and noncontrast CT detected 85% of the cases. The combination of CT with and without contrast had, at best, the same accuracy. When used as a screening test, the small but established risk of IV contrast material must be considered. CT, both with and without contrast, plus RN still missed two out of 27 cases.

&NA;Radionuclide venography with99mTc‐MAA was performed on the upper limbs of two patients with clinical evidences of brachial vein thrombosis. The radionuclide venograms of one patient showed a flow defect at the axillary vein, abnormal collateral flows and stasis of radioactivity in a brachial vein. Contrast venography in this patient revealed extensive thrombosis in the axillary vein. The radionuclide venograms of the other patient showed impaired flow through the subclavian vein and abnormal collaterals. Contrast venography in this patient revealed a hypertrophic valve in the subclavian vein. Radionuclide venography of the upper limb is technically simple and is useful in the evaluation of suspected abnormalities in the deep veins of an upper extremity in a patient who is undergoing a perfusion lung scan or is allergic to contrast medium.
