摘要:
In the industrial environment, compressed air is considered an essential utility for operation of various equipment, tools, and instruments, but less is understood in terms of the real cost of owning, operating, and maintaining such a system. What is the life cycle cost of such a utility? How much does it cost to operate a compressor? How does one conduct an industrial audit, analyze, procure funding, implement projects, monitor and verify savings, and maintain such a system in top conditions (O&M measures)?

摘要:
What changes can manufacturers make to reduce waste streams and save money? A recent modification to a successful Department of Energy energy audit program has included a focus on waste minimization for small and medium-sized manufacturers. The program change was incorporated over two years ago and approximately 2000 assessments have been completed nationwide since the change.

摘要:
Design data on the air diffusion systems for air-conditioned buildings in Hong Kong are surveyed to get a general picture of the current practice. Questionnaires were distributed to building services consultant engineers, contracting firms, and building operation and maintenance teams to collect information related to the geometry of the space, primary design objectives and criteria, types of air terminal devices used, and the consideration of the air flow pattern in the space. The surveyed data are then compiled, and correlation equations between key parameters on the air diffusion devices with the floor area are derived. An estimation of the cooling load based on the operating conditions of air diffusion devices was also made.
