摘要:
This article presents a therapeutic tactic called ritualized prescription which is specifically aimed at breaking up those behaviors through which each parent disqualifies and sabotages the initiatives and directions of the other parent in his relation with the children. On the fundamental principle of the conceptual systemic model it is evidenced how this prescription, even in cases when it is not followed, inevitably supplies the therapists with relevant information for the understanding of the family's functioning. With families following the prescription, fast and satisfying changes are observed.

摘要:
The dominant model in the field of conjoint therapy is the notion of the family as a unit or system (Beels&Ferber, 1969) and, in particular, as a homeostatic system in which change in one part requires compensatory adjustment in others (Jackson, 1957). This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the systems model and proposes an alternative approach, the paired bind model. The paired bind orientation retains the major advantage of the systems approach (its focus upon couple and family interactions) while eliminating its major disadvantage (its oppositional tone).

摘要:
Verbal group therapy is a conventional treatment for schizophrenic patients. This report describes a pilot program of brief group therapy which utilized nonverbal sculpting techniques as the central therapeutic modality. Family sculpting provided a structured format for the patients to organize perceptions of self and family within specific contexts, to experience these perceptions in action, and employ them in resolving family conflicts.

摘要:
In the family picture the camera records during the first and last session how each family member arranges other members in a tableau or family sculpture. The picture offers the therapist and family a quick opportunity to learn about each other. It visually depicts the coalitions, the separation or togetherness of family members, which help the therapist formulate therapeutic goals. When the pictures taken during the first session are compared with those taken during the last session, they can be a validation of the positive family changes.

摘要:
Although contingency contracting is a popular strategy for use in treating distressed relationships, there is no direct evidence of its efficacy. A stimulus control model of change in behavioral couples' therapy states that the conditions under which an agreement was negotiated, regardless of the consequences specified in the agreement itself, are the primary determinants of whether the agreement is upheld. Once change is prompted, its maintenance is associated with stimuli generated by the negotiating session itself (that is, self‐statements) and contingencies provided by concurrent changes occurring in therapy. Therefore, it is argued that explicit contingency contracting is unnecessary, and in fact contraindicated, for reasons which are elaborated. Hypotheses are offered which provide indirect tests of this model of change in behavioral couples' therap

摘要:
This article presents a method for family crisis intervention, utilizing a case history approach. The goal is extended from restoring the crisis bearing unit to its pre‐crisis level of coping to a basic restructuring of maladaptive pre‐crisis behaviors. It is aimed at general behavior change as well as resolution of the immediate situation. It adapts crisis intervention theory to intervention involving chronic crisis bearers and their families. It eliminates the tendency to identify one member of the family unit as the patient without considering the impact of the other members. This approach consists of short term intensive treatment combined with selected traditional techniq

摘要:
This paper examines the family's experience of psychiatric hospitalization. It considers the ways in which the family therapist can help keep the family system intact and involve it in the inpatient treatment process. Family‐related and hospital‐related obstacles to family involvement are discussed, along with suggestions for dealing with them. Also presented are family problems characteristic of an adult hospitalization population and suggested treatment strateg

摘要:
The paper draws upon the work of Mardi Horowitz and his colleagues in the explication of the delayed stress response syndrome. The syndrome is a form of chronic catastrophic stress disorder to be discussed in the new “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.” The theoretical nature of the syndrome and its most characteristic symptoms are delineated within the context of treating Vietnam combat veterans. The paper outlines treatment implications within a family therapy program. Specific issues and procedures discussed include (a) diagnosis of the syndrome and the family pathology within which it is embedded, (b) identification of the particular family characteristics which tend to affect and be affected by the syndrome, and (c) the use of both the spouse and another survivor of the catastrophic event in the treatment prog

摘要:
Using the concept of decentering, as formulated by Piaget, to describe how the child comes to understand his impersonal world, the author has extended the concept to understand family patterns. After describing decentering, he shows how it can be used with Rational Emotive Therapy and Transactional Analysis, both cognitively oriented therapies. These theoretical ideas have served as the basis for a cognitive model of therapy which the author calls TARET Systems, a major goal of which is the increasing of awareness through shifting perspective on oneself and others.
