摘要:
Many trauma survivor dyads pose intense challenges for couples and marital therapists. Interpersonal reactivity, transference, emotional withdrawal, and associated responses complicate these difficult yet often rewarding cases. Unique aspects and interpersonal dynamics of these couples include specific themes, characteristics, and patterns. Treatment approaches focus on the systemic influences of trauma on interpersonal dynamics and offer interventions to challenge disruptive interactions, attend to the original traumas, and develop healthy relationship patterns.

摘要:
Childhood sexual abuse affects both survivors and partners; however, the common therapy modalities for survivors (individual and individual group therapy exclude their partners. In‐depth interviews with the husbands of survivors were used to examine partner issues around the survivor's therapy. Several thems, both positive and negative, emerged from the qualitative analysis of the in‐depth interviews. The authors suggest that therapists should consider integration conjoint couple therapy as an adjunct to, not a replacement for the traditional modalities of individual and individual group therapy for adult surviv

摘要:
Studies of post‐traumatic stress disorder have focused primarily on veterans, generally ignoring their female partners (wives or girlfriends). recently, clinicians have begun to identify PTSD‐like symptoms in these female partners, but the literature describing this phenomenon has been limited. These wonem's symptoms and issues they face in their relationships with their veteran partners are described. Conceptual explanations of and causal factors for these women's symptoms are presented, followed by discussion of treatment approaches and

摘要:
This paper explores the origin of in‐law problems through the lens of their cultural, developmental, and intergenerational contexts. In‐law problems are viewed as attempted solutions to incompleted developmental tasks. The systemic approach described tackles the embedded realtional and developmental issues through restructuring, coaching, intergenerational inquiry, loyalty probes, solution focus, and anticipating the consequences of change. Therapeutic steps in stages are identified: (a) entry: (b) contextualizing the problem: (c) mobilizing the system; (d) consolidating change, monitoring the consequences, and soft ending. Case vignettes are used to illustrate treatment possibilities in a variety of in‐law situa

摘要:
This paper offers a model for integrating a nurturance framework into family therapy approaches with adolescents. This approach is seen as adding an important but neglected dimension to commonly used approaches, thus increasing both flexibility in treatment and the likelihood of a positive outcome. Steps to an effective treatment approach are outlined and guidelines offered for both in‐session work and out‐of‐session
