摘要:
This paper reports an investigation of the hypothesis that the meaning of love is different for different people. Six distinct concepts of love were isolated by using Smallest Space Analysis procedure. Ideal types of the six different styles of loving were constructed, following the work of Lee. The clinical implications of the findings were discussed, and a procedure for the management of cases involving incongruous concepts of love was proposed.

摘要:
Marital and family therapy has traditionally been carried out by a solo therapist or colleaguel co‐therapists. Theoretical and clinical advantages and potential difficulties of a husband‐wife team will be discussed and comparisons made to the colleaguel co‐therapy model. Phases in the development of a husband‐wife therapy team and illustrative clinical vignettes will be pr

摘要:
This paper presents a way of understanding marriage and marital therapy in terms of Satir's concept of differentness. One important impetus toward marriage is the individual's need to feel complete through emotional fusion with the spouse. Individuals choose marriage partners who will give them a sense of completion. Marital balance is sought around the fulcrum of this need for unity. Any disturbance to the myth of unity of the two partners is seen as a personal threat by each. Marital balance or homeostatis is a way the partners disguise the unique differentness of each. Acknowledgement of the differentness and separateness of the other is seen as a threat to the self. The task of therapy is to help partners recognize and tolerate the differentness of the other.

摘要:
The literature indicates that recent clinical concerns concentrate on certain problem areas, while neglecting others. Theory building is slow; agreement on definition, indications, selection, evaluation, training programs, and a unifying conceptual schema is still lacking. Intervention and outcome evaluation remain insufficient. A need for broadness, flexibility, and avoidance of dogmatization is underlined. Resistance to a family and community intervention model continues. It is argued that strength rather than pathology needs emphasis. Some strategies to develop family therapy further are suggested and recommendations made to overcome outlined obstacles.

摘要:
As traditional sexual roles in our society become less defined, searching for one's identity can be confusing and amorphous not only to those seeking help but to educators and counselors who strive to aid those experiencing change. The ownership model offers professionals a framework in which women can develop themselves, often without risk to marriage.

摘要:
A group model of supervision of family therapy was implemented by a team of three supervisors with doctoral students in counseling psychology. It was believed that such an approach would provide students with more opportunity to work as therapists with families and to observe a greater variety of families, therapists, and therapeutic styles than in other models. Interchange in supervisory sessions focused on co‐therapy issues, observation skills, family dynamics, differing therapeutic techniques and approaches, and planning and goal setting in therapy. This experience contributed to the professional and personal growth and development of student

摘要:
The use of the Fundamental Interpersonal Relationship Orientation‐Behavior (FIRO‐B)inventory in couple counseling is viewed as a cooperative counselor‐client procedure that aids both counselor and client in conceptualizing interpersonal compatibility, specifying counseling goals, assessing behavior change, and facilitating an action oriented counseling process. Case histories are used to illustrate the use of the FIRO‐B as an integral part of the counseling
