摘要:
A review of family therapy goals is presented and discussed. Therapy goals are divided into two major categories: 1) Specific Goals for Specific Families; and 2) General Goals. The latter category is further divided into goals having to do with family interaction and those related to symptoms and character traits of individual family members. Familial and individual goals are discussed in relation to the concept of interrelated, hierarchically arranged systems.

摘要:
Fair‐fight‐for‐change is a technique in the creative use of aggression in marriage counseling as proposed by George R. Bach, PhD. Its purpose is to utilize anger constructively, teach communication skills, and produce behavior change. The author's use of this technique is presented step‐by‐step in a verbatim account of an actual counseling session that was also vi

摘要:
The view is advanced that the fundamental cause of marital failure in our time is the inability to resolve the anger which is inevitably generated in an intimate relationship. The nature of anger, its impact on a love relationship, and its constructive management in marriage are examined. The concept of training couples in “marital fighting” is rejected in favor of a three‐step procedure which the author has tested out in his own marriage, and taught to other couples, with very satisfactory re

摘要:
Projective identification is discussed as an interpersonal mechanism involved in distortions of perceptions and communications. Several case illustrations are presented to show how this mechanism manifests itself in relatively healthy, though neurotic, couples. A treatment approach based on correction of the perceptual distortions is suggested as a model for short‐term counseling with such couple

摘要:
This paper presents a variation of short term crisis treatment adapted to the specific needs of rural families in Northern New Hampshire. The life style and culture of the client population are seen through the eyes of a formerly “urban” therapist. The intent of the paper is to validate existing tenents of family crisis therapy with some slight modifications and emphases; suggesting that crisis intervention may well be the treatment of choice in a rural sett

摘要:
The clinical assessment of adolescent problems is most effective when conducted in view of developmental tasks, family interaction, and peer group influences. For early adolescents, developmental issues need to be resolved within a supportive family milieu before satisfactory differentiation toward a peer group can occur. An assessment‐intervention model for initiating treatment with early adolescents and their parents is presented. The combined collaborative‐conjoint method was operationalized by interdisciplinary professional teams in a community health setting. The treatment model's effectiveness was evaluated by self‐reports and statistical comparisons in 50 cases over a two year period. The results are discussed and illustrated in two case st

摘要:
The paper focuses on the interface between family life and the world of work with special reference to the field of marriage and family counseling. The empirical and theoretical rationale for incorporating marriage and family counseling services in an industrial setting are presented along with estimates of industry‐wide receptivity. The final section of the paper describes a specific plan of action being implemented at Purdue University and explores some of the basic issues associated with the training program, the clientele to be served, and the delivery system to be employed within an industrial settin

摘要:
An Integrative Model of marital therapy, based on behavioral‐learning approaches and other current conceptions and marital therapy practices, was tested in' a four‐stage therapy program. Treatment couples, as opposed to normal controls and clinical couples in a waiting‐list condition, showed significant increase in caring (as measured by Shostrom's Caring Relationship Inventory) and satisfaction with the relationship (as measured by the Kelly‐Tharp Marriage Role Questionnaire). Furthermore, the observed changes were attributable to the incremental treatment procedures, and positively correlated with gain scores on a learning‐in‐therapy measure. The clinical utility of the model, and the theoretical and methodological implications of the study ar

摘要:
This paper discusses the special attributes of the legally reconstituted families formed when divorced persons who have children from their previous marriages remarry. The remarriage family is identified as a high risk group for which society has not as yet established norms. Interviews with 70 couples suggest that the stress for couples and families involved in divorce and remarriage would be prevented or reduced through remarriage preparation courses.
