摘要:
AbstractThe phonon dispersion relations of K2ZnF4are analyzed by lattice dynamical rigid ion and shell model calculations. It is shown that the concept of crystal‐independent interionic potentials is applicable for this non‐cubic substance. There is a structural unit in the tetragonal perovskitetype layer material K2ZnF4in common with the cubic perovskite KZnF3, namely the ZnF6octahedra. 摘要:
AbstractAn analysis of the photoelastic behaviour of fluorite‐structure crystals is performed by considering the existing theories of electronic polarizabilities of ions. On the basis of experimental and theoretical information available for electronic polarizabilities it is assumed that the change in polarizability due to strain under the effect of hydrostatic pressure is mainly arising from the change in anion polarizability. Values of strain polarizability parameters and volume derivatives of refractive index or electronic dielectric constant are evaluated and compared with experimental data for CaF2, SrF2, BaF2, PbF2, Sr(NO3)2, Ba(NO3)2, and Pb(NO3)2crystal

摘要:
AbstractThe effect is investigated of recently calculated van der Waals potentials and new ultrasonic elastic data on thermal energy, crystal binding energy, and compressibility of alkali halide crystals within the framework of Hildebrand and Mie‐Grüneisen equations of state. Recent experimental data on the compression of LiF crystal are compared with the results calculated in the present work. It is found that the Hildebrand equation of state using an exponential form alongwith the vdW interactions yields better agreement with experimental data than those obtained from other potential models based on an inverse power form or the Mie‐Grüneisen equation of
