摘要:
AbstractAn approach for calculating the tensor constants of single quasicrystals by the data on textured aggregates of structure elements has been proposed. The distribution of the structure elements on orientation has been approximated by a model function that describes well a broad spectrum of possible textures ranging from a single orientation to the fully isotropic distribution. The anisotropy of two‐rank and four‐rank tensor properties has been analysed for decagonal quasicrystals. The melt‐spun textured decagonal quasicrystals have been found to reveal an appreciable anisotropy of physical properties even in the ribbon

摘要:
AbstractAccording to high pressure spectroscopies, in particular, the nearly linear red‐shift of the R‐line at pressures above ≈ 7 GPa for Gd3Ga5O12: Cr3+and Gd3Sc2Ga3O12: Cr3+crystals, the local linear compressibilities of (CrO6)9−groups in both systems at P ≈ 7 GPa have been determined by using the bond length dependence of the covalency reduction factor obtained from the pressure‐induced spectral shifts of ruby (Al2O3: Cr3+). Then, the local compressibilities at normal pressure are estimated on the basis of the pressure dependence of compressibility obtained for other garnet crystals. The results are obviously different from the compressibilities of the host crystals. The reasons of this difference ar

摘要:
AbstractA comparative study of the Birch and Kumar equations of state is presented to demonstrate their validity for a wide range of pressure, viz. from atmospheric pressure up to the structural transition pressure. It is found that these equations of state are equally good in the low pressure range anddeviations occur under the effect of high pressures. The comparison demonstrates that the results obtained by the Kumar equation of state are in better agreement with the experimental data as compared with the Birch equation of state. The application of Kumar's equation of state is also discussed at high temperatures, viz. from room temperature up to the melting temperature. The good agreement between theory and experiment demonstrates the validity of the Kumar equation of state recently proposed for the entire range of pressure and temperature.

摘要:
AbstractThe internal friction of amorphous Pd77.5Cu6.0Si16.5 (a‐PdCuSi) was measured with a conventional torsion pendulum (Ke torsion pendulum) at increasing temperature, and it was found that there are two internal friction peaks (P1and P2) near the glasstransition temperature Tgand the crystallization temperature Txof a‐PdCuSi, respectively. From DSC measurements it was found that the origin of the peak P2is directly related to crystallization, while the peak P1may be a relaxing internal friction peak. The sensitivity of the inverted torsion pendulum and the Collette pendulum was discussed. We found that the controversy on the measured results of internal friction on a‐PdCuSi is due to the lower sensitivity of thesetwo pend

摘要:
AbstractThe effects of the confined LO phonon‐electron interaction on the binding energy of shallow donors confined in a GaAsGa1−xAlxAs quantum well are investigated. The barrier potential height is taken into account. Using the variational method of Lee‐Low‐Pines, we find that the effect of this interaction is negligible for very narrow quantum wells. For thick quantum wells, the polaronic contribution is qu
