摘要:
FORMl-JLA INDEX.THE following index of organic conipounds of known empirical foririula is arrangedaccortling to Richter's system (see Lexikon der Kohlenstof- Verbindungen).The eleinents are given in the order C, H, 0, N, C1, Br, I, F, S, P, and theremainder alphabetically.The compounds are arranged-Firstly, in groups according to the number of carbon atoms (thus C, group,C, group, etc.).Secondly, according to the number of other elements besides carbon contained inthe molecule (thus 5 IV indicates that the molecule contains five carbon atoms andfour other elements).Thirdly, according to the nature of the elements present in the molecule (given inthe ahoae order).Fourthly, according to the number of atoms of each single element (except carbon)present in the molecule.Salts are placed with the compounds from which they are derived.The chlorides,bromides, iodides, and cyanides of quaternary ammonium bases, however, are registeredas group-substances.C1 Group.CH, Me t h ane, velocity of ignition in mixtures of air and (COWARD and BRINS-LEY), T., 1859 ;
