摘要:
SUMMARYThe series consisted of 1247 patients operated on in the Surgical Departments of the Hospital of Vicenza. During the anaesthesia, a hexafluorenium‐succinylcholine combination was administered. The effect of hexafluorenium‐succinylcholine on blood pressure, cardiac rhythm, the vegetative nervous system, and on the freequency of bronchospasm, muscular pain and bronchopulmonary complications was studied, and the results were subjected to statistical analysis.ZUSAMMENFASSUNGBei einer Serie von 1247 Patienten, die in der Chirurgischen Abteilung des Krankenhauses von Vicenza operiert wurden, war während der Anaesthesie eine Kombination von Hexafluorenium und Succinylcholin verabreicht worden.

摘要:
SUMMARYNervous tissue depends on oxygen consumption because the anaerobic formation of energy‐rich intermediates is insufficient for obligatory metabolic needs. The enzyme activities, and therefore the metabolic pathways, are unable to be adjusted to anoxia with sufficient rapidity. The effects of anoxia are probably more pronounced in certain cells or brain structures than in others. Overall chemical changes of the brain will therefore not necessarily disclose the crucial lesion in localized anoxi

摘要:
SUMMARYThe cardiovascular effect of the new ultrashort‐acting nonbarbituric intravenous anaesthetic agent propanidid (Epontol®) was investigated and compared with anaesthetically equipotent doses of methohexital (Brietal®) in open‐chest rabbits under pentobarbital anaesthesia. With the doses used, propanidid had a more distinct effect on myocardial contractile force, blood pressure and right atrial pressure than methohexital.

摘要:
SUMMARYMeasurements of regional cerebral blood flow have demonstrated that cerebral anoxia destroys the normal “metabolic” regulation of the flow as well as the normal autoregulation of the cerebrovascular resistance. This leads to cerebral “vasomotor paralysis” or “luxury perfusion” (Lassen (1966)22), during which the rate of flow is increased above the post‐anoxi‐cally lowered metabolic demands. Cerebral anoxia may also, apart from causing cerebral hyperaemia, lead to an increased fluid filtration in the capillaries and possibly also an increased cellular water uptake. Although these mechanisms are not fully understood, it seems likely that they contribute to the development of brain oedema in the postanoxic phase. In patients withfocalocclusive (anoxic) lesions, several of the above events can be demonstrated directly by means of neuroradiological procedures and measurements of regional cerebral blood flow. Followinggeneralbrain anoxia the cerebral vasomotor paralysis and ensuing oedema may set up a vicious circle which leads to an increase in the intracranial pressure, which may further augment the anoxia and—in severe cases—give rise to global brain ischaemia and exten
