摘要:
Abstrad–This paper deals with an effective method for the prediction of kinetic parameters of H-abstraction reactions from hydrocarbon species. The prediction of the reactivity of complex molecules is obtained starting from a large set of well defined experimental rate values for small radicals and molecules as a basis. making use of proper analogy rules and a limited number of reference kinetic parameters.

摘要:
Abstract–A one-dimensional model describing a self-sustaining reaction wave moving through a unidirectional periodic flow field is proposed and studied numerically. In the case of zero diffusivity of the deficient reactant the reaction wave undergoes partial extinction, as a result of which a considerable portion of the original premixture remains unconsumed. For long-wavelength fields within a certain range of the flow intensities the system exhibits a peculiar nonuniqueness of possible propagation regimes. The transition from one regime to another occurs in a manner of hysteresis.

摘要:
Abstract–studies of tbe combustion of several binary silicon/oxidant pyrotechnic systems (Si/Fe2o3, Si/SnO2, Si/Sb2O3and Si/KNO3) have been extended to examine the behaviour of ternary systems with silicon as fuel and binary combinations of the above oxidants. The effects of substituting ferrosilicon, FeSi7, or calcium silicide, CaSi2, for some or all of the Si in the above systems have also been examined.

摘要:
Abstract–Kinetic parameters for the processes occurring during controlled heating and during combustion of the binary silicon-fuelled pyrotechnic systems. Si/Fe2O3, Si/SnO2. Si/Sb203 and SilKN03 have been estimated, where possible, from the results of both thermal analysis and temperature profile measurements. The values obtained from the two very different techniques are compared and discussed, and the role of the oxidant, in a series of binary combinations of silicon as the common fuel with different oxidants, is discussed in terms of the detailed results reported in this and the immediately preceding three papers.

摘要:
Counter·intuitively, moist CO oxidation is experimentally shown to be inhibited by the addition of oxygen to stoichiometric mixtures at 1000 K and atmospheric pressure. At these conditions, oxygen essentially reduces the ratio of [H]/[OH] such that the consumption of HO2occurs through chain-terminating rather than chain propagating reactions, Although multiple sets of reactions are active in this transition, the principal effect results from a transition from HO2+ H - OH + OH to HO2+ OH - H2O+O2and H02+0-0H+02as oxygen concentration is increased, As temperature is increased these reactions have a lesser influence on the 0, Hand OH radical pool due to the reduced production of HO2, Near 1040 K, the inhibition effects cease to be observed and the reaction rate is essentially independent of oxygen concentration. At higher temperatures still, previous experiments have shown that oxygen addition increases the rate of CO consumption. These experimental trends are qualitatively predicted by a comprehensive mechanism for CO/H2/02oxidation developed previously. Quantitative predictions can be obtained by updating the rate of H02+ OH - H20 + 02to the values given by recently published reviews of low temperature data and to new high temperature experimental data.

摘要:
Abstract–The present study reports that radiation absorption in gas-phase and natural convection play significant roles in gas-phase ignition of porous solid fuels exposed to an external radiation heating. While gas-phase radiation absorption shortens ignition delay times, natural convection delays gas-phase ignition. A theoretical model for a transient one-dimensional analysis includes radiation absorption and scattering by the fibrous structure of the fuel, radiation absorption in gas-phase, natural convection, and internal convection due to the porous structure. Predicted ignition delay times are found to be in excellent agreement with experimental results. A parametric study shows that ignitions under unfavorable conditions to attain a thermal runaway are induced mainly by radiation absorption in gas-phase.

摘要:
Abstract–A new approach to modeling the mean effects of stretch on laminar flamelelS in a premixed turbulent flame is explored which uses statistical results of direct numerical simulation of the distributions of strain and curvature on a propagating surface. These statistics are combined to estimate the distribution of stretch rates experienced by the flame and hence the mean rate at which the turbulent flame converts reactants to products per unit of flame surface area. The results are presented as a function of the Karlovitz number ranging from zero to unity.
