摘要:
In this paper a generalization of FENCHEL's conjugate functions is given. We introduce both the upper and lower polar functionals, respectively, using the upper addition and lower addition (as done by MOREAU). Then we give a few general results. Moreover, a weak duality theorem for certain dual optimization problems is proveci. Finally me generalize FALK's investigations and obtain some properties of the upper and lower convex envelope of a functional.

摘要:
To meet difficulties of convergence and “stepsize-choosing” within the Method of Approximation Programming (MAP) of GRIFFITH and STEWART a modified approximation method for nonlinear programming problems is given. It is proved to be convergent for convex problems. The running times and gained numerical experience is discussed for numerous test problems.

摘要:
Lety=X β+ ϵ be a linear model with ϵ normally distributed such that Eϵ = 0,. Starting from prior distributions with respect toβandσthe authors develope the conception of BAQUE (BAYEsian Quadratic Unbiased Estimator) for estimation of linear functions of theσi. It is shown that BAQUE depends only on the first and second moments of the prior distributions, and a method for its computation is given. Conditions for the independence of BAQUE of prior distributions are derived. i.e. conditions for the existence of uniformly best quadratic unbiased estimators. Further, BAQUE is used for the existence of uniformly best quadratic unbiased estimators. Further, BAQUE is used for estimation in the variance components model, and is compared with MINQUE (introduced by C.R. RAO). MINQUE is BAQUE for special prior distributions. Finally applications to multivariate regression model and to other models are given.
