A theorem is proved that provides a finite algorithm to represent any BOOLEan function f as a BOOLEan expression whose argumen are at most three BOOLEan function of the variable appearing inf. The interation of the algorithm will generate, in a finite number of steps, and expression of the original function as a BOOLEan polynomical whose arguments are linearly separable functions of the original variale each of which may, furthermore, be required to satisfy additional optimally conditions.

On the basis of the general solvability theory developed by BEN-ISRAEL for linear systems in real or complex Euclidean vector spaces duality relations between linear complex programming problems over arbitrary closed conves cones are given. Duslity theorems of real linear programming and duality theorems of LEVINSON, MOND AND HANSON, BEN-ISRAEL and BEN-ISRAEL, CHARNES and KORTANEK are special cases of our results.

In the paper we show that if the quasi-convex functiondefined on an open convex set satisfies some mild restrictions thenis a convex function on a convex compact subset if onlyCis larg e enough. We investigate specidly the casa whenseparable, i.e. when. Our results make possible the application of the methods of FIACCO and MCCORMICK in non-linear programming problems, where the constraints are quasi-convex.

Let be a probability measure on a finite setI, withIas a support. Let be a reai function onI. The aim of this article is to prove that we can express such a function as a sum of non constants functions orthogonal with respect to the inner product considered as the integral, of the product of two functions, with respect to the probability measure. This result can easily be generalized to the finite product of finite sets on which a product probability measure is defined. From this deoomposition an exact partition ofX2on multi way contingency tables is easily proved.

In practice we may be faced witha a situation where are have two or more variates, each having a lognormal distribution. This paper deals with the approximate distributions for, where the, are equicorrelated lognormal variates with parametersaandσ2. We are going to apply the approach due to K. PEARSON basing on the calculation of a given criterion. It is founded that – for different values ofnandσ2most of the cases indicate type VI, otherwise type IV or type V.
