摘要:
The relationship between the class of Latin, Graeco-Latin and Hyper-Graeco-Latin squares which can be formally classified as orthogonal fractional replicate plans and the totality of Latin, Graeco-Latin and Hyper-Graeco-Latin squares is discussed. AvXvsquare for which thetletters of the alphabet that represents the treatments each occurktimes in every row and column, so thatv=tk, is defined to be an equal frequency square. The properties of these squares are discussed and compared with the properties ofkLatin, Graeco-Latin or Hyper-Graeco-Latin squares of sidet.AvXvsquare for which thet<vletters occur in each row and column with frequencies proportional to the number of times they occur in the entire square is defined to be a proportional frequency square. The structure of the analysis of variance for several proportional frequency squares is developed and illustrated with an example of the analysis of data from three 5×5 proportional frequency squares with three treatments.

摘要:
A series of similar experiments may give, with not necessarily the same precision, estimates which vary among themselves from experiment to experiment. Methods are described of using the maximum likelihood equations to obtain estimates of the overall mean and the variance components, and good approximations to them. The procedures are particularly useful in bioassay.

摘要:
The regression ofXponX1, · · ·,Xp-1, when the random vectorX= (X1, · · ·,Xp) follows ap-variate (p> 2) Poisson distribution, is obtained. Various sets of sufficient conditions for the linearity of the regression are given. It is shown that the regression is linear in one of the regressors if all the rest are zero, without any restrictions on the distribution ofX.

摘要:
The distributions of linear forms ofmindependent exponentially distributed random variablesT1,T2, · · ·,Tmor linear forms of the variablesT(1),T(2), · · ·,T(m) (where T(i) isith order statistic) are considered. The results are used for the determination of the distributions of products of powers of the variablesZ1,Z2, · · ·,Zm(or of order statisticsZ(1),Z(2), · · ·,Z(m)) which have the power-function distributions.

摘要:
The maximum likelihood estimator and minimum variance unbiased estimator of the probability of zero failures inmbinomial trials were compared on the basis of expected squared estimation error. The choice of estimator proved to be a function of the region of parameter space. However, the m. l. e. was preferred throughout the regions likely to be encountered in practice (where the probability of zero failures exceeded 0.5).

摘要:
This paper gives analytic expressions for the moments and recurrence relations for the first four raw moments of a doubly noncentralt-distribution withvdegrees of freedom and noncentrality parameters δ and λ. Table I provides numerical values of these moments forv= 2 (1) 20, λ = 2 (2) 8 (4) 20 and any suitable δ. Two approximations to thet″-distribution, involving the moments, are considered.

摘要:
It is shown that the uniqueness of relationship between a regression function and a prior distribution, in Bates-Neyman type models, previously established for linear regressions and gamma prior distributions, is of much more general application.
