摘要:
The purpose of this study is to analyse, by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), the validity of the typification of the pollen ofCentaureaL. s.s., carried out by Wagenitz(1955) with light microscopy and based on the exine structure and sculpturing. The pollen of six species have been analyzed: one species for every type of pollen present in Italy:C. sempervirensL.,C. alpinaL.,C. scabiosaL.,C. albaL.,C. montanaL.,C. cyanusL.

摘要:
Of the14C labelled sugars (sucrose, glucose and fructose) and14C proline, the incorporation of label into different lipid types was least from proline while sucrose was the preferred precursor over glucose or fructose. High incorporation into phosphatidyl inositol with14C sucrose suggested that this phosphatide besides being a membrane component served possibly as the inositol storage component. High incorporation of label into phosphatidyl choline also suggested synthesis of new membranes during pollen tube growth.

摘要:
A strong K+-dependent, fusicoccin-sensitive increase in acidic extrusion paralleled by a corresponding increase in net K+uptake and hyperpolarization of transmembrane electrical potential was observed in the root segments of wheat seedlings cultured in diluite CaSO4+0.27 mM Methyl-acethydroxamoilacetate. Moreover, K+-induced depolarization was also increased up to three times.

摘要:
Taxodioxylon gypsaceum(Göppert)Kräusel, wood fossil discovered in the central italian miocene.—A sample of silicified wood fossil has been discovered in the miocenic formations of the Castellaro mountain in the neighbourhood of Pesaro a city in Central Italy. An anatomical study has made it possible to accept that the species isTaxodioxylon gypsaceum, which resembles the actualSequoia sempervirensfor its woody structure, conservative endemism of a coastal region in California. The fossil species that is known for its numerous tertiary deposits in the Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, is now indicated for the first time in Italy; the mount Castellaro station results to be the more south among those in Europe.

摘要:
Soil microfungi in homogeneous areas of three plant communities of North Italy.—The soil microfungi associated with three different community types in Prealpine region of North Italy were investigated. Frequency values for the taxonomic entities isolated were calculated, based on occurrence at sampling sites, in each community. Most of the entities were quantitatively rare. The microfungal communities associated withAcer pseudoplatanusandFraxinus excelsior, withOstrya carpinifoliaand withFagus sylvaticaappeared to be a distinctive group, even if many of them contained a substantial number of species wich are common with other vegetation types.

摘要:
Some ultrastructural features of cells of the marine haptophycean alga,Ochrosphaera neapolitanaSchussnig in the palmelloid stage were examined. Chloroplasts which are contained in a compartment isolated from the cytoplasm by ER profiles and nuclear envelope, display trilamellated thylakoids running along the major axis. The stalked pyrenoid with inner bilamellated thylakoids, protrudes in a large membrane-bounded vacuole. Other structures, as the haptonematic and flagellar bases, autophagic vacuoles and mitochondria, are typical of the chrysophycean and haptophycean genera so far investigated.
