摘要:
Keys, illustrations, descriptions, and ecological notes are provided for nine species ofPolysiphoniafrom Scandinavia:P. arctica, P. brodiaei, P. elongata, P. hemisphaerica, P. lanosa, P. nigra, P. nigrescens, P. urceolata, andP. violacea. Taxonomical and nomenclatural questions are discussed with special reference to the application of the specific epithetviolacea. On the basis of examination of type material,P. fibrillosais considered conspecific withP. violacea, as this species is currently circumscribed, while the entity to which this name was originally applied is probably the same asP. nigrescensandP. fucoides.

摘要:
Chlorophyllase activity and photosynthetic membrane proteins of two lots ofHedera helixwere studied. Both the HV variety with variegated leaves and HC variety with green leaves were observed. Proteins from green, white and white-green portions of leaves differing in age were compared using dodecyl-sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The white or white-green regions ofHedera helixvar.aureomarginata(HV) did not differ significantly in chlorophyllase activity.

The present paper reports the effects of morphactin on leaf morphology and stomatal apparatus ofVigna radiata. Morphactin treated plants showed fusion of leaflets resulting in the formation of a simple leaf with various modifications or amplification giving rise to tetra-, penta-, and multifoliate leaves simulating palmate leaves. The area of leaflets and petiole size of treated plants were considerably reduced. Morphactin also changed the form of stomata with paracytic, anisocytic and anomocytic types observed. A reduction in frequency of stomata, size of epidermal cells, trichomes and stomatal pore were common with an increase in stomatal size on the abaxial surface. Aberrations such as contiguous stomata, stomatal degeneration and stomata having a single guard cell were noted. Since the action of morphactin is in the direction of reducing transpiration, the application of this substance may be helpful in cultivation of crops exposed to periodic dry conditions.

摘要:
Post-fire sequences in microfungal soil populations in Mount Argentario (Toscana region). A research program was conducted to investigate the post-fire sequences of microfungal populations in Thyrrenian Coastal soils. This paper reports the results of the first year of that study. An initial reduction of fungi was followed by a gradual reconstruction process characterized by a constant increase of colonies and species. The periodic after fire analysis permitted an initial understanding of the possible selective role of the fire and its consequences on some microfungal species.

摘要:
Measurements of Leaf Specific Conductivity (LSC) of the vertical water potential gradients and of vessels diameters in 1-year-old twigs of young olive trees have been made. LSC prooves to vary along the twigs differently from other species we have already studied in that it is significantly lower in the proximal twig's segment. Consequently, the water potential gradients are in this region higher so indicating that a higher resistance to flow exists.
